Awe man...all this new stuff makes me want to play again. I did the free 7 day "come back and get hooked on our virtual crack" thing, but I only played 2 days of it. I want to play, but I just don't think I have the time anymore.

Once the initial rush is over, I may try to log in and look around the old stomping grounds.

I was playing the PTR which has the pre-Cata patch. I think everyone is going to be very happy with what they've done. I enjoyed playing as an undead hunter for a bit. Their new worgen-related storyline looks pretty cool...but not gonna play it any more until it's on servers that wont be wiped. Also, I'd like to point out that there has been NO official announcement by Blizzard that this Tuesday patch will be the Cata patch....although frankly it seems likely.

I'm sure they will. They are trying to beat the patch that will make Pirates of the Burning Coast into a F2P game. I kinda feel sorry for WoW, it will be a ghost town.

Blizzard has also revamped the starting areas. I've recently been playing an undead hunter (that's right, I said undead hunter!) up to level 16 and the story line has been awesome! There are cut scenes, horse rides with Lady Sylvanas, some really fun new quest lines that are similar to the Death Knight starting area.
I can honestly say it has been fun and you don't need the expansion to enjoy this content.
I am not sure what has happened in the other starting areas. I may have to check that out or if you have rerolled in another starting area let me know.

I just finished the Silverpine quest line and the ending is truly "O.O" worthy. I really hope every zone is even half as awesome as the new Undead newbie areas. Silverpine is EPIC! ^_^

Silverpine is EPIC! ^_^ Just finished it myself, totally Epic!! I also like the quest afterwords you turn into a quest giver. I literally was laughing out loud, that was awesome.

Sounded cool, so I took them up on their 7 day trial again. Was hoping to see some of you folks online, but I was the only one there Soon as I saw a bunch of motorcycles drive by though, and one that sort of looked like a jet bike, I said "Yup, I'm outta here" and uninstalled.

The Mechano-Hog is one of my favorite items! It requires a RIDICULOUS amount of money/mats, and its made by engineers. If you've been to Northrend there are Blimps for crying out loud. The Mechano-Hogs aren't really that game breaking.
The "Jet Bike" was probably the 2-man goblin rocket mount you get when you refer a friend. Normally a flight mount, but allowed to also be a ground mount. Engineers have Helicopters too.
When you consider most people only care about the rare achievement mounts like Proto-drakes, it becomes minor.

From the very beginning, WoW has been pushing out of a generic pseudo-medieval setting into a steam-/magicpunk setting. I, for one, can only approve of this, as the standard pseudo-medieval setting for MMOs is getting stale. Bring me more cannons, guns and technology I say! I can see how it might be off putting for some, but I enjoy it immensely. Along with motorcycles there are: Blimps, Airships (no gas involved, both Alliance and Horde have exactly one in Icecrown), bi-planes (gnomes and dwarves have a freaking airport), what might be an atomic bomb in the Alliance airship, robots (both gnomes and goblins and engineers), tanks (dwarves), biological weapons (Forsaken) etc etc and I love it all. <3
