Yeah I agree with you, Winin.
All the FPS's that I can think of have proper point of view (speaking height-wise, that is). I tend to use 3rd person view with MMORPG's though because EQ was the only one to get the height viewpoint correct. DAOC, WOW, and now [mod] all seem weird when trying to view 1st person.

Yeah they all lack arms and such in 1st pov. Or they do it in a clunky way. Of course EQ trolls could see the inside of their belly when they fought.

I can't say I've ever played a FPS, but can speak to the 1st person vs. 3rd person view issue. I prefer the immersion of 1st person view, but hate the tunnel vision! A lot of the time, I have the same problem with 3rd person, it's just not as pronounced. I even bought a widescreen monitor and the problem persists. I wish I could see more peripheral vision in games, and therefore I end up zooming out as far as possible.

Some games have a setting that I don't know what it's called, but it lets you alter the "fisheyedness". It's like putting a wide angle lens on a camera. You can set it so it doesn't feel too distorted, but it gives you a wider field of view.

Picked up the limited edition just now...not sure how much playtime I'll get until Thursday when the wife has training classes in the evening...been gone and she needs her hubby fix until then. If I could only get her interested in this genre.

I dont like 1st person in mmorpgs. I dont have any peripheral vision and stuff sneaks up on me. That being said, I cant stand 3rd person shooters. It just dont feel right. Like anyone really cares anywho... Whats the deal with this game? Some are downloading it, but it sounds like Wrasse bought a box. DLing probably wouldnt be an option for me, with my connection. But with all this hype from people whos opinions I value, I might have to pick up the game and give it a whirl. I used to wind down every evening of gaming with a half hour or so of fps. Watching folks heads explode has always had a calming effect on me.

Picked up this game tonite for my Xbox 360 and i must say im impressed, its even better than the demo. The FPS feel with the ability to tweak your character is really cool. I recomend everyone check this out, Windows and Xbox 360 im sure everyone on this board got one or both If you enjoy 1st Person FPS you will not be disapointed.

Man...the demo is freakin' creepy!
Not a game to play in the dark with the headphones on!

Traded in some games and got this, and paid off my Warhawk preorder About 3-4 hours in to Bioshock and it rocks. The mood is very creepy and the AI is pretty good. I love seeing a Big Daddy, and checking out the environment and strategizing a game plan before taking them on.

Was anyone else reminded of Fallout, by some of the atmosphere?
By the way, I have one gripe so far with this game...well, the demo actually. The main character's movements make too much noise. For instance, everytime pats the wrench, I think someone is in the room with me!
