twitter.com/JoshDrescherJosh has been so prominent with WAR for so long. What timing. The blogs and forums are already abuzz with the lack of WAR news/interest in E3. While I'm not one to support gloom and doom, as someone who has been having fun back in WAR and really wanting to see the game make some changes and thrive, this really blows. So...

That's bad news indeed. I had hoped (irrationally I know) That we'd get some good WAR news during the week of E3. More employee layoffs comes as quite a surprise.
There's still plenty of fun to be had in Warhammer. EA/Mythic don't always make it easy to keep the faith however. I am looking forward to the new RP mechanic. Group heal, GG, GG, GG, Pew Pew!

This does indeed blow I wonder how many more were effected. If it's a large percentage, it could silence expansion rumors.

Seems like they tried to time this during E3.
I was semi-interested in resubbing to check out the city changes, but likely won't now.

It's sad to follow Josh's twitter. Says "they marched me out first". I feel a little sad for Mythic in general. It seems like nothing good has come for them since they were absorbed by EA. But I will fully admit, I'm an EA hater.
But more layoffs, assuming there is more than just Josh, at this time for WAR just makes you feel like they are giving up on the game. And just letting it tread water until SWTOR comes out and then they'll let it sink. IMO.

This isn't enough to make me quit WAR - like Whiskey, I really want to try out the new Rune Priest changes - but I will feel even more icky than usual the next time I send EA money... like in their Steam sale later this week. EA has a rich tradition of abusing their employees in all their divisions (not just Mythic) unlike a lot of other developers who actually care about their workforce (for example, Stardock). This is especially sad because WAR seemed like it was just beginning to turn the corner ever so slightly earlier this spring... the momentum from the infinite free trial and new city siege seems to be slipping away

Yeah, what little hope any of us retain for the game deflates a little bit when you hear shit like this.
I still may check it out, but only because I'm wandering aimlessly though MMO's right now.
