...i was once talking to a games workshop dev on why Slannesh is in the Warhammer world when he was unleashed by the Eldar. He said that the Warhammer world is just another world in the 40k universe but it is trapped inside a warp storm so it is isolated and no spaceships can reach it. If you know where to look you will find references and hints to the Old Ones that made the Lizardmen in the 40k universe. The Tau were made by the Old Ones. So they didn't get lazy, there is a connection
