To explain...
We create a forum when any certain game/topic is hot in our community.
When interest begins to cool, we place it as a subforum. Or on occasion, if we know in advance that a game is likely to be big with our community, we'll create a subforum in advance to collect discussion as it begins (SWTOR, GW2) and then those are moved to the front forum area as they grow in popularity.
When a game is cold in our community, it no longer needs it's own forum. Our subforum list would be a ridiculously long list of dead discussions and scrolling would need to be done to get to current "Game On" topics. We like to keep the current topics as close to the top of things as possible. However, we do not like to delete any discussion. What we do is tag each thread with the game name or acronym (Aion: , LOTRO : , etc.) and move it into the "Game On" area. By doing this, all discussion is preserved and the topic clearly notes the game in the thread.
If a game goes cold in our community, it doesn't mean you cannot discuss it. Post any news or interest in our "Game On" area. It has happened in the past where a cold game has reacquired its forum when interest became hot again.

So our forums are like a giant microwave to reheat things?
