Being the min-max closet hardcore elitist that i am, i've returned to my former self of trolling through a MMO forum digging for about as much information on my class as i can. In doing such I feel it is my duty to relay any information I find to you guys, my guildies! I think we all are aware of the "know your enemy" truths. I plan to compress all of it here in this thread. Anything and everything I find will be here. Math formulas, pvp tips, leveling guide(eventually). If you have any questions about the Sorceror class feel free to ask them here

. These were two of the biggest questions I had walked away with from the Closed Beta event. Those questions of course being what is the difference, if any, between Orb and Book? AND will I be able to wield a staff. The answer to the latter question is no; mages(Sorc and SM) cannot equip staves. The answer to the former is;

I guess the rule is this;
Orb = higher damage
Book = higher accuracy
For leveling as a general rule of thumb for ANY magic class; the more mana efficient the more leveling efficient. Thus making the book better for leveling because HITTING is critical.
Although, at higher levels....I would lean back towards the Orb when you have gear that can make the disparity between the two minor. Elyos Sorcs are already at a disadvantage again Asmo Sorcs.
Asmo Sorcs get a racial stigma that Decreases cast time by 50% for 15 seconds. 5min cooldown.
Elyos sorcs equivalent increase our magic boost by 500 for 15 seconds, 5 min cooldown.
It's simply more practical to play to your strengths, atleast when against odds like that. Any DAoC vet knows that cast speed = KING in RvR. As that an Elyos' Sorc's best hope is to simply obliterate that emo bastard as quickly as possible.
