Well, another day another experience.
I'm level 35 now(halfway to 36 woot!) and have since my last writeup, done my fair share of ganking/pvp/fort fights. Through all of them, here is my newest epeen modifier.
It's mid day on a Wednesday, by most standards a "slow" time for a MMO, and since I didn't have much time to play, I decided to fly out to Tigraki Island in the upper abyss for my campaign quest. To get here btw, you need flight pots(for future reference ).
I arrive, after a long flight from the eastern shard, to the Island. I saw one red dot, but he hasn't moved so I kinda figured to just do my quest and move on, I wasn't sure if there were guards there that worked like the goblins in WoW.
Campaign quest was easy enough, you get a (temporary) pair of wings that look pretty cool, flies you to a predetermined location, you talk to a npc there, get jumped by two drakkens(almost got me killed btw, yay pots), then fly back.
Now, when i get back I'm at about 40%, give or take. So I start casting my herb treatment. About halfway through the cast i realized there was a small red name that was casting(the character was tiny, i saw his glowy hands before him really). First thought is "awww sh*t, I'm dead so I did what any sane person would do, I ran off the ledge.
I didn't have nearly enough flight time to make it back to a safe distance, so I knew I had to fight either that or to my death. I'd rather go down in a blaze of glory any day! I flew directly overhead the sorc, then opened up on him. I managed to get my silence off just a half second to late after I poisoned him(not letting him open his wings), so I was tree'd(Mezzed). Generally one thing i do here, is depending on what spell the sorc casts, I'll burn my focused evasion right out of tree. (most sorcs cast delayed blast out of tree/sleep so that you have the blast take the resist hit instead of inferno, a ridiculously high dmg spell(ow). He started casting inferno first, so i was gonna wait to burn my evasion. I ended up resisting the inferno(hooray luck!), and instead his spammable(3s cast DD, forget what it was called) ate the resist debuff, at that point I was just firing any direct dmg ability I had, trying to get through his shield as fast as possible.
Finally his shield went down, I then used sleep arrow so i coud wait for my CD's to come back(yeah sorcs, don't like your own medicine do ya?!) and use another pot. After a salvo, I finally defeated him(excellent fight, it was really close). I was flying the entire time, so, I landed to regain some flight time back before heading out.
Almost immediately, ANOTHER sorc came. I ran behind one of the buildings and stealthed. I ran back out, all hyped because I was about to drop her without letting her get a shot off(i had popped arrow flurry, which increases our attk speed by an insane amount). Except that she had then run inside the hut(buzz kill). To all future pvp'rs, being in a sorc's face isn't necessarily the safest place. They have an instant cast DD that hits pretty hard on a 2s cd. So instead I waited, then stealth faded, I'm guessing she then saw my dot on the radar and started coming after me.
Running back behind the building(I was determined to get the first attack off) she followed. I must have got a good lotto on the dmg done by SS/RA, because her shield dropped much quicker than the sorc before. After a well placed silence, and a well timed focused evasion, I dropped her with much more ease than the previous sorc.
Once again, low on health. So I just stood there, getting ready to type in guild chat what just happened, when she rezzes herself. Yeah, that was a mistake. I was at low health, but she had waited long enough for all my CDs to be up, one round of Stunning Shot and Rupture Arrow, and she was defeated again, giving me yet another 93 APs
Now, in hindsight I'm asking myself why she waited so long?(she waited a good 10-15s). My only guess was that she was waiting for me to sit, as that would have given her the half second she needed(from me getting back up and getting into combat mode) to get more than 1 instant cast dot off.
Man, that was a rush. To all you asmo sorcs out there, bring it!
