What makes Aion so great? Have been looking at it and huming and hawing over whether to give it a try or not. What makes it more or less appealing then say WoW or other fantasy MMOs? Opinions? let me know looking for a good MMO to play around with.

I'll go with the overwhelming beauty of the game. graphics are amazing and music kicks ass.
The grind though... it slays me. They're putting in experience enhancements soon though! that and i should have some people to run instances with now! though, i think in the late 30's there isnt really any instance to do :/
anybody wanna grind Kaiden HQ??
its better than WOW for beauty. its better than WAR b/c people play it. WAR is a better PvP game though.
mm. i'd say if you're looking for something to chew on, try Dragonica. Its a fun little RPG, semi-side scroller. but it will surprise you with how much fun the combos and play can be once you pick up a few abilities.
or GO TRY DANGERLANDS!!!!!!! ;D

Yeah! DangerLands!
Aion is fun and pretty, but I haven't gotten to the pvp or dungeons. It seems more team friendly (vs. solo friendly wow), and I like that. It doesn't have any super cool feature that makes you want to play it, but it does a solid job at all the key things, so not much to turn you off (unless you just don't like the look/feel, the game design decisions, etc)

Like Winin said, it's not that Aion is great, it's that it's good at what it does. The grind is offputting, but the PVP makes up for it, for me. CC isn't utterly ridiculous and there are multiple ways to remove it.
Really, it depends on what you want from an MMO. If you don't want to grind, don't play Aion.
