I of course meant to recruit groups from within the legion, rather than from the masses. Leave them to fend for themselves! MUWAHAHAHAHAHAAHHYAAA....hem. Sorry, back now. PUGS are just so random, you never really know how they'll end up. I tend to get a good one, and then one where I'm the only one who's ever played in a group before, in any MMO. I was once a teacher, and I hate doing that for free, especially when I'm supposed to be enjoying a leisure activity. I mean, I'm not expected to pause street fighter to show the other guy how to do a dragon punch so he'll be more of a challenge, am I?
actually, now that you mention it...

When we get some more people in the 30s we will have to try the fortress instances! good times, good experience and good loot! i've done eastern and western siel so far. I've done Eastern and Western Siel too, as well as Sulfur's instance. Siel Western is MUCH better than the others IMO and in fact it is my new official "favorite Aion instance so far", even beating out Training Grounds (mostly because of TG's idiotic level cap). Have any of you started doing Fire Temple yet? Yes you need the key, but getting it is easy for Elyos (random mob drop, as opposed to a complex campaign quest filled with elites for Asmodians). Fire Temple is more of a traditional "dungeon crawl" than the wackiness of Siel Western but the multiple paths and variable boss spawns are pretty neat... I've run it twice now and still haven't seen all of it. As for Aion's grind: I am up to 35 now and the levels are slowing down again. 20-25 was excruciatingly slow while 25-30 flew by in a couple days. At 35 I need 16 million XP to hit 36 and an average non-elite mob in the Abyss is giving me 16,000 which means the grind is currently 1000 mobs/level. I've heard the XP scaling on nonelites pretty much stops around level 40 and the mobs/level grind ratio dramatically increases above 1000. Hopefully soon we will find out if/when we are getting the new patch with increased quest reward XP. Because right now the XP reward for a lot of sidequests is pretty insulting... "Collect 7 monster parts for 50,000 XP" and in the process of killing 40 mobs for 7 monster parts I get half a million XP... at which point I just begin to say "why bother?" The only quests that are really paying off for me right now are Campaign quests. To be honest I like Fire Temple. The drops are wacky sometimes with bosses not dropping anything but a grey item, but there are a ton of mobs in it. Most groups just skip 3/4 of the instance and go right for 2 bosses (Silver Rotan Roller Ring of Death and the 'final boss). I love the instance and you are definitely correct with the multiple paths (annoying at first, but easy once you know your way around) and the random dice roll for a few of boss mob spawns (keeps it fresh). I could see it as being a really good exp to time ratio with a group of about 4 to 5 people. You could probably 4 man it around lvl 35/36 (don't know the level cap if there is one tbh) but the last boss would be a killer (hrmmm..aoe stun for 75% of hp and around 50% direct damage + huge dot but both can be avoided by running away/side stepping out of it) but I think I would have a blast healing it with less people. The other thing I like about FT is that you can usually get a quick group together and have a shot at 2-4 bosses if you are doing a speed run plus the drops in the instance are not too shabby. And each run usually is around 30 min so its not like you're devoting hours to it (unless you want to grind it). Will always be willing to run this place so if anyone needs/wants lemme know!
