I'm not sure about others, but I am hyped like crazy for this game. As part of that, I've been around looking for good video content of the live demos they've shown. I figured I'd share some of my favorites. Ranger Video (Lots of combat) Necromancer (Starts out slow, but shows lots of good features; shows minimap pinging and minimap writing a la GW1) Elementalist/Warrior

What I've looked at does look good, but I'm trying to avoid getting hyped like crazy for any game.

Usually my policy too but when an MMO starts doing things I've wanted MMOs to do since I was 13...well. It's rather hard to contain myself.

True, but there have been a few too many examples lately of MMOs that told me they were going to do things that I wanted an MMO to do. Every time, the game failed to live up to the hype, often delivering the exact opposite of the promise made.
GW2 sounds great, looks stunning, and truly has the potential to be an amazing game. The only way I'll be convinced it actually is a great game is by playing it myself.

I will admit I'm willing to suspend my skepticism somewhat because, during my "hardcore gamer" phase, I followed GW1 ravenously, and with great excitement, because at the time it was next iterative step into introducing "action" elements with MMOs. They didn't blow smoke up my ass then, and were very frank about their strengths and weaknesses during the process. I have some built up trust in A.net. (Granted, A.net may have changed since then, it's been many years.)
That said, GW2 wasn't even on my radar until I saw a demo video (made by a fan at a demo station) in which an elementalist dodged to the right and had a melee strike narrowly whiff him because he HAD dodged. I'll take words with a grain of salt. I'll take official video with some more. But it's very hard to fake that. In almost every video, combat is frenetic and mobile for even the most traditionally stationary of classes.
That said, yours is the more reasonable stance, and there are still plenty of ways they can ruin this game, even if they deliver on every promise they've made. I have a few things I'm watching with a skeptical eye, the chief among them how new skills are acquired, and if the first 5 skills being determined by weapon will work out or stifle uniqueness and build-craft.
