As the hype about GW2 builds, I see Slurms is reinstalling GW1 on his computer. Is anyone else planning on doing the same? I still log in and play about once a week.
I mentioned in a previous thread that yes, some of the "fluff" you earn in GW1 gets ported over to GW2, from basic stuff like reserving your character names to more exotic stuff like armor skins and possibly even titles. However you need the Eye Of The North expansion to enable the link between the two games.
With that in mind, does anyone want to schedule another GW1 night within the next week or two? The first one we had went pretty well.

If I can get my account working, I'm game for a group night. I have no idea what levels/classes I even had though. I was most likely going to start over.

Generally I manage all my NCsoft games (Aion, GW1, CoX) through their plaync.com site, I have a master password for my account there then a separate password for each of the games associated with the account. The main thing you'll need to remember is which E-mail address you were using to log into GW1 the last time you played... remembering the names of one or more of your toons is kind of important too.

yeah, all my PlayNC stuff was a mess from all the games I played. Kicker is that I've only used 2 email addresses in the last 10 years, and I punched them both in at the "cannot remember account name" thing, and got no automated response in either email's inbox.
I sent a message to the customer support last night. Hopefully I hear something today.

I was playing quite a bit a couple of months ago, but got lonely. I would still really love to do a regular night where we level up together.

Yeah that's my fault Brian, I was busy moving earlier this spring and it ate up several valuable weeks of gaming time where I could have been helping you level in GW1. I see you're still in [TeG] with me, I might be recruiting a few more MP folks to join us there soon. Odds are if you don't see me on b.net chat during prime time I am over in GW1.

I dropped WoW like a bad habit (just got boring after awhile) and have been pruning the MMO landscape for a new one. I have always like GW but never got around to play it. It has always interested me as a great game. Played a demo long ago before Factions was released and was really liking it. Would it be very hard to step into it now or just wait for GW2?

Would it be very hard to step into it now or just wait for GW2? No, you haven't missed the boat these last 5 years, GW1 remains extremely easy to get started in. If you have never bought a GW1 box then it is best to start with Nightfall, the story is pretty fantastic, the leveling curve is manageable (you can hit the level 20 cap within 30 hours played) and unlike the other two campaigns it contains one of the major defining features of the GW1 franchise... your own squad of customizable "hero" henchmen NPCs, who unfortunately will be departing us in GW2. The only downside of Nightfall is the scenery is a bit too "desert/savanna" repetitive for my tastes, I like chilling out in the snow and admiring the fall foliage over in Eye of the North. But you can't start a new character from scratch in EotN like the other three campaigns... gotta buy one of the three campaigns, get to level 20 (it's not necessary to complete any of the campaigns, just get to 20) then teleport over to EotN.

Okay, I called NCSoft today and the lady on the phone sounded SUPER cute and she was all shy and giggly when I tried to lighten the mood. Just wanted to put her in my pocket! Anyways, after asking me a few questions she revealed that my account was on hold because my Aion account got HAXED! SO! All is now fixed, and I'm in game playing a Warrior named Slurms Mp I thought I had bought Nightfall, but it turns out I didnt. I'm considering picking it up so i can roll a Paragon, but I'm going to wait a week or so and see if I'm still playing. ;D

I'll keep an eye out for the day you all set up. I've been meaning to get back in there but have been distracted with other games.

I have the game but haven't played very much. I've been busy with Dragon Age. I'm thinking I really need to dust off GW. I'm missing MMO fun right now. My guy is named.... Scarybooster duh!

I looked into the Paragon last night, didn't realize that they were ranged. SO I made a Warrior and I thinkg I might do Necro as a secondary profession.

So I made a Warrior and I thinkg I might do Necro as a secondary profession. W/N has been an excellent combination for years, for example here is a very impressive solo PvE farming build for W/Ns to use in Eye of the North.
