New Console game from Pandemic where you can be Evil or Good!
Seems like a 3rd person action game.
Looks like online as well.
Seems kinda epic.
Monted combat.
If anyone can find more info that would rock.

Early this morning Pandemic sent out word of their newest project, Lord of the Rings: Conquest. Working in a partnership with New Line Cinema, the project is in development for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Nintendo DS
For the first time ever, in LOTR: Conquest, the player can choose to conquer Middle-Earth by controlling the legions under Suron’s control, including Cave-trolls, Oliphaunts, the Balrog and even Sauron himself. Players can still chose to battle the forces of evil, but as we all know, being good all the time gets dull.
Folks over at Pandemic seemed appropriately excited about the project. “Our Pandemic Studios creative teams have years of expertise bringing giant battlefields to life,” says Andrew Goldman, Pandemic Studios co-founder and general manager. “We’ve always wanted to harness our experience in a fantasy universe with warriors, archers, mages and castle sieges. Of course, there is truly no better fantasy world to recreate than the enormity of ‘The Lord of the Rings’ realm.”
“We’ll freely admit that we’re rabid fans of The Lord of the Rings fantasy,” says Josh Resnick, co-founder and general manager at Pandemic Studios. “Our experience creating massive, rich, action-packed games means that The Lord of the Rings: Conquest will give fans exactly what they want: full control of the blade, bow and magic to fight its epic battles any way they want – even if they choose to play from the evil side.”
Look for the Lord of the Rings: Conquest globally this fall. For more information on The Lord of the Rings: Conquest, visit the official site.

Firstly, upon discovering the development of this game I almost wet myself! A Battlefront-LotR amalgam...? My dreams have come true! big_smile
Having said that, I'm a little more than a little concerned that the heroes in Conquest may have to be nerfed in order to maintain some semblance of 'fairness' in the game -- especially in the case of The Dark Lord himself. (Going on the fleeting combat footage of him in The Fellowship, he seems for all intents and purposes god like!)
I'm sincerely hoping that this 'gimping' won't be in effect to the extent that I feel it may end up being.sad I would be more than disappointed to find that a mace-wielding Sauron wasn't nigh on invincible for the sake of the game's 'balance'.
I feel that a better way to negate the probable disparity such powerful characters will potentially pose is to limit their usage to truly skilled gamers. ie. Making the prerequisites for their acquisition harder than for other comparatively 'weak' heroes.
I am aware that their presence on the battlefield will be limited [temporally] a la the Jedi/Sith in SW:Battlefront. But this also concerns me from the point of view of the enjoyment level one can expect to experience if their hero's play time is severely limited -- a problem I indeed encountered in SW:B.
This game has unparalleled potential. I just want it to be fulfilled.
