Holy cow I suck. ;D I need some major practice. Especially with the stinking air vehicles.

That was fun Saturday night....think we killed each other at least once. I don't even bother trying to fly now. As soon as I get in the pilot seat, we either get shot down or I drive the thing straight into a building in 5-6 seconds I do much better as a gunner on those things. I do love driving the tanks though! Especially the PAC hover tank. One of these days I'll start up a local game and practice flying there. There must be some kind of a problem with the EA Master Servers or something.... I didn't get credit for any of the badges or awards I won Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. I got the points, the rank ups, and the unlocks, but not the rest. That really cheesed me off because I had a good weekend!

Yeah I think they are. I didn't get any of the badges either. I thought it was cool when one popped up. And now I don't have any to show. I went last night with enough points for two ranks before it even gave me the messages and the option to upgrade. Are you in a clan or anything? I learned last night to try and get into the squads and not try and solo my ass through a mission. Much better that way.

Squads are absolutely the way to go, if you can. Easier to get points, and it's so much easier spawning closer to the action. Plus, given the choice between sticking my neck out to rez a squadmember or a lone wolf...I'm gonna pick the squaddie everytime.
I am not in a clan or anything like that yet. I just jump into a random server, hop into a squad, and play. Then I keep an eye on how well the various squad leaders do in the round, and change squads the following round, if necessary.
I like to play all the different roles, but mostly play Assault (Medic), or Support. Last night I spent a lot of time riding shotgun to my Engineer squad leader in walkers & tanks. I was playing Support, so kept the vehicles loaded up with ammo. When we had to stop for repairs, he'd hop out and fix while I jumped into the main gun seat. Was fun! We were doing pretty well.
Have you played any Titan rounds yet? I don't score as high in those games...I haven't quite figured out the way to rack up the points there yet.
I've seen the same thing with the promotion delay. I had qualified for a promotion after one game, but didn't get it. Then the next day when I logged in, I was promoted instantly. So sometimes the awards and stuff "catch up" to you. I'm hoping perhaps the badges we got will do the same.

I like the Titan games, but it seems vehicle dependant. I noticed one guy had like 50 kills with his aircraft. I get my ass handed to me on the titan though. I get ambushed almost at every corner. Eventually I just stayed topside and killed the other team when their pods or aircraft dropped them off. I need to get better at throwing my gernades. They don't leave your hand as fast as they do in Halo. ;D I look like an idoit standing in the middle of the battlefield pulling the pin on the grenade then trying to toss it. I usually get smoked before my toss. Sometimes squads don't let me in, even when they are unlocked. I wonder if that is a bug. If you want big points I hear Commanding is the way to go, but you can't suck so much in that position.

I haven't tried Commanding yet. I should give it a go in the Single Player to get used to the options.
Are you trying to join them while you are dead? I think you need to be alive/spawned.

Lol. That is sweet. How do you take a screen shot? I'm getting better. I had my first 50 point game last night.

Nice!! I had a good night last night too...had to make up for Wednesday night, which was HORRIBLE. I think Weds I set a new record for dying. It just adds insult to injury when you see that Purple Heart medal pop up on the screen I wanted to play with you last night, but got on late. Last night was a 3 badger! Got my Arctic Combat, Titan Defender, and Titan Defense Excellence. Then I drove a fully loaded troop transport straight into the ground. They should give you a badge for that. Printscreen will take screenshots. I had a hard time finding where it was stored...was looking all over in the game directory.. then found it in My Documents\BF2142. I want to try out that Battle Recorder function. Not sure if that takes a movie or what.

I like how you can go to battlefield.ea.com and look up your guy when you are not playing. I think one of these nights I might just get selfish and focus on finishing up a few badges (instead of focusing on winning the round ). Those 2 Northern Strike badges each give you a free unlock. One of them only requires you to be in an NS vehicle for 5 minutes. I tried NS for the first time last night, and the little snowmobile thingies were crazy to drive!

Yeah the expansion was $9.99, and I had some dough sitting in PayPal still, so picked it up. I've had it for a couple weeks now, and last night was the first time I actually played it.
I'm kinda nervous about downloaded purchases though. I'm in the process of upgrading my system now, and will be formatting by the end of this month. Every format I have done in the past, I had the the disks for the software I was reinstalling or the downloaded install files (like for NWN Premium content). I didn't check to see if Northern Strike left a big ole install file someplace in the BF2142 directory.

I may have to look at picking that up if it is that cheap. I will be redoing my machine in the near future too since I only did an upgrade to Vista and not a clean install. I am waiting for more stable drivers to be released before I do that though. Damn nVidia being slow with their SLI drivers. I like having disks for that purpose too.

$10 is peanuts for a game expansion these days...but it is a pretty small one. Only 2 maps, a new game type, a couple new unlocks & vehicles, and badges.
Yeah, I know there are some issues with my geForce 8800 & the Forceware drivers not playing nicely with Vista. I'll be waiting for SP1 for Vista before I switch to it though, so I figure nVidia should have a good driver for it by then.
