The promos are out for the pre-release versions, complete with extra toys. I am trying to decide if it's worth a box buy to try it out. Not all of the pre-game hype sounds as promising to me as it originally did. I'm especially unimpressed that they now will be combining a monthly fee with a microtransaction store, because there are too many ways to cheat on the promise "anything non-cosmetic can also be earned in-game": technically a 0.000 001% drop rate can still be earned in-game. Anyone know if it's any good?

I won't be getting it. It seems about on par with CoH, but this is many years later. Maybe better graphics and different play style, but not significantly different enough. Also, it is designed for more action, which means less socializing while playing. I guess with voice comm that isn't as big a problem these days, but still. Feels like an arcady game. NOTE: I haven't played the more recent changes.
