I never had a C=64, but I spent so much time at my friend's house on his that my parents bought me a 128 when it came out.

I didn't have one, but I remember them. My dad remains convinced to this day that computers and the internet are going to lead to the end of civilization. No computers at my house growing up.

Yeah, I have great memories of my C=64. I remember programming a GUI for a roster for our supergroup, "Mach 1", in Villains and Vigilantes. Goddamn I am a geek.

I missed the C-64 bandwagon... somehow I wound up on the TRS-80 one instead. Wrote my own "Choose Your Own Adventure" type games for family and friends and saved them to tape cassette drive. With 25 years of hindsight, it's pretty clear the C-64 was vastly superior to the Trash-80, but at least I HAD a computer as a kid, unlike Maeve

My friend had one, and called it the cammode-or 64. I had the awesome TI-99/4A.

I had the awesome TI-99/4A. Me Too! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_Instruments_TI-99/4AI loved Parsec and Tunnels of Doom and backing up saved games onto a tape recorder. I totally sound like my Dad, "When I was your age I had to backup my games on cassettes." Followed by a 20 minute conversation explaining cassettes. (and for the record, I still call a release of 10 or so songs together in any format an album!)

Tunnels of Doom was awesome! Parsec too (I had the voice module). I also figured out that if you put an audio cassette in, you could play music through the computer while playing the game. Who needs an embedded mp3 player? Bunch o wimps these days.
