The Circle of Trust website is hosted on a server through Ab's brother's work. Because of instability, his company will be moving to a new hosting service and we won't be able to continue to use the hosting for free. Wrasse (Talavir/Khaid from Aim to Misbehave/The Kindred) has graciously offered to host the Circle of Trust site for us. The hosting will continue to be free for us, but we do need to minimize our use where possible. This only requires a couple of very tiny changes: 1. the guild movies will only be available for download for a short period of time. After that, they will only be available on You Tube. If you want originals (bigger and better quality) download them now. 2. You may continue to use CoT bandwidth for signatures, smileys, avatars and any other CoT images if you are on the Circle of Trust board or the Only-WAR board (because of the guild coalition) and any alliance board that we may join once in WAR since these are all guild related. Other than that I need to ask that you use photobucket or other similar free service to use images elsewhere so that we don't take advantage of Wrasse's generosity. I think that covers it. We'll switch over in a few days or so, so if things go nutsy, it's me goofing up the transfer.

Anytime! We've got an icy mix here in Texas this morning so I may be in a bit late, Z. If I can't get your FTP area set up today, I'll do so on Monday. I'm sure I'll have time...it'll probably just be later than I anticipated.

My LR folks all called in at like 6:30 their time saying "we've got a ton of ice here, probably going to be late..."
They started rolling in around 9:30 10:00....
some for a pretty short drive - it makes me laugh.
Last year I headed down there and landed in an ice storm - beat 1/2 of the team into the office and they were all astounded - the ice was mostly mush and they already hand sand on the road - its too cute. Spend a good winter by the greatlakes - you learn to deal and drive.

It's not so much the drive but more the hundreds of cars in front of you and that bottleneck bridge that we're behind. Some of the drivers down here are from the north (I'm from KC so we did have winters and some interesting conditions to drive through when I was young) but it's more how quickly the cities deal with the conditions..which is slow to say the least. I guess it just isn't very economical to prepare your car or the roads for icy conditions when they happen just a handful of times a year.

Hey Z, I still haven't heard anything from that friend of mine who handles the DNS server. I'll try to get a hold of him again today.

I got a hold of Brett...and there is a better way of setting this up to make sure you have complete control over the domain (and, more importantly a DNS server entry for your domain). Once you get a chance to get on IM, send me a message and I'll explain...if you can't just let me know if you are comfortable with me discussing it all here and I'll go ahead and just post on it. Anyway though...should be able to work this all out pretty quickly ASAP and prevent downtime in the future. ...and get well Matthew!!
