I've noticed over the years that there are a lot of creative people who are gamers. If you have a piece of art that is video game related share away! This is a Mario monument I designed a few years back.

That's absolutely amazing.
As a father... I can't even imagine and as a lifelong lover of games I never considered using my hobby as a message to the world after my departure.
Holy shit man I'm fighting tears at work.

It's customers who have your outlook Slurm that make this job worth it. Many people see this job as morbid. I see it as creating art that represents someone's life . After all, that is what a memorial is. That particular customer was amazing to work with. Her brother (who the stone was for) was a special needs kid. At 1st she seemed embarassed ;asking me if it was tacky to etch that on a monument. I told her this isn't about what other people think. It's about her brother and the love his family had for him. I'm not exactly sure what was wrong with him....I never ask. She did say he was obsessed with Mario and seemed thrilled that a design embracing that theme could be done.
Darlene came in almost every week to check on the progress of the stone. On the last day the father came in. He was this gruff biker guy. He broke down then proceeded to inform me that I was an honorary member of his gang. Ha! I'm a total wimp and won't even set foot near a motorcycle. None the less that design and the family who were involved with the process made me realize that Iove what I do. Thanks for letting me share.

That's an incredible story and a beautiful monument. I'm a bit speechless. I love the bricks and note blocks. And I feel weird for saying I love it. But I do. Awesome work, man!

Thanks! The notes were a last minute addition thanks to Darlene (the customer). She came in while I was finishing the monument up and told me how much he loved music. Thank you Nintendo for giving us the joy of musical note blocks. HA!
