Although there is a statistical difference between the races, it is very minor and will make very little difference to your character at max level. If you are a min/maxer, you're already doing research on this and it doesn't need to be covered here. For the typical player, it will matter more to your gaming enjoyment to choose the race based on the look of the character that you want to play. Consider how armor looks on each race. Because of how the class system works, there is very little reason to alt, which means you'll be looking at this character quite a bit. At level 10, you'll begin to gain stat points that you can apply to any stat you choose and your character will automatically gain stat points depending on the class you are playing, and by max level, these differences between the races will be extremely minor.
