Spend 3500 zen. I like the pet, but it is similar play wise (dps) to the dire wolf that comes with my guardian pack, I'm not going to buy it when the game goes live. If I didn't have the dire wolf, I'd consider it. It has fun idle animations.

Sorry, this isn't BioWare. You can't hook up with them. Here is a great thread about them: nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?111111-Companion-info-and-a-bit-of-a-guideHere are some pics of the ones I'm planning to use. As they level up, they get better costumes/skins for a total of 4 different looks. I did this in the foundry. Many of the companions are there as NPCs, so you can preview them before you buy. All three: Dire Wolf (dps, comes with the $60 pre-order pack) Man-at-Arms (tank, one of the 4? you can choose during the "Get a Companion" quest around level 10. Acolyte of Kelemvor (healer, costs 500 zen (I think that is the price))

Why a stupid honey badger!!
During the final beta, I blew... I'm not sure now, but I think it was around 800k Astral Diamonds on a cat... a bloody cat! Of course I did that because they'd be reimbursed; there is no way I'd spend that on a cat otherwise - but a Eurasian Badger! Absolutely.
The Eurasian Badger's special abilities would be:
1. Nip toes 2. Roll in leaves 3. Find grubs
How am I supposed to get to 60 without one?

"Here's the wolf you asked for, sir."
"It needs.... something"
"It's already a pretty mean looking wolf, I think people will like it"
"no... go back... make it meaner..."
walking away: "ugh... meaner? the fuck..."
5 minutes later
"Hey Joe, come check out these stupid fucking spikes I put on the wolf"
"HAHA that looks like something from an 80's metal band album cover HAHA'
"HAHA"
"Hey what are you guys laughing at?"
"ugh, nothing boss, just working on that wolf you-"
"GOOD GOD MAN.... IT'S...... perfect"
"ummm...."

I heard the cat is kinda useful. Non combat, but it adds its stats to you. But anyway, here is why they have honey badgers, they just don't give a shit. It's really pretty badass.:

The panther is pretty sweet. It is huge but it'll sit there and clean its head with its paw like a house cat.

Damnit, Winin! Why did you post that? Now I may have to buy a honey badger after all.

Not sure about the white hair. Maybe a different version?
I only grabbed these shots, but when it goes live I can do more, though you'll be able to see them once you get foundry access.
Actually, I think the thread I linked has cleric pics.
