Yeah, this looks like a good system to me. I like that there is an option to trade it with other people in game for gold, so I don't have to pay more money, if i'd rather just spend more time playing. And I like that it discourages gold sellers, since it's now handled by the developer instead. it will seriously cut down on in game spam. Probably not completely eliminate it, but at least cut down on it.

"MMO veterans will note the similarities of our system to EVE Online’s PLEX system. As in that case, our system takes gold trading out of the hands of real-money trading (RMT) companies and puts it directly in the hands of players. We think that’s a great thing"
One of the most well received parts about EVE, I'm surprised companies are just now beginning to catch onto this model. It works out great for the players.

Looks good to me. I've never understood why it bothers people that items can be bought. As long as I can control the manner in which I achieve these things, then I'm fine.

If this is a lucrative model, why are other companies so stuck on monthly subs and Nickel & Diming people?

Because practices have a certain momentum. If something works, even suboptimally, enough to be profitable it's very difficult to justify trying something new, even one that has been proven on a small scale. It's like this with any business, really.

Nothing on that list seems really unreasonable. I'd imagine some people will get all bent outta shape about EXP but there's more to GW than just the Level Cap right?

the megaphones, imo, cheapens the feel of the game to the Perfect World type of free to play. There is nothing on the list however that will stop me from playing.

If I had one I'd definitely just say "LOOK AT ME, I'M IMPORTANT"

Yeah. The item I really, really hate on that list is that megaphone. It's completely unneeded and it's potential as a major grief tool is unlimited. We knew the boosts were coming, so I had made my peace with their existence already.
The only thing left to bother me is the perfect salvage kit and the Mystic key, but only if they are exclusive to the cash shop. If they're not, they're fine. If so, it's quickly going to become as utterly annoying as TF2's locked boxes, cluttering your inventory.
But at the end of the day....these items are all potentially available for gold too through the cash conversion. I'm certainly not excited for any of this, but it is better than I might have feared.
