Freaking Final Fantasy XII comes out tomorrow! I don't have a copy preordered or anything I'm completely flabbergasted that I missed this one coming. I must have been so wrapped up in it getting pushed back and back and back I must have though 2007. Well, looks like I get to make a EB Games trip tomorrow if they've got any left, or maybe I'll just drop a hint to the wife that Christmas is coming up. Of course now that I know its coming out, I might not be able to wait. Yea - I'm just that much of a FF Fanboy.

More importantly, Neverwinter Nights 2 comes out tomorrow! Screw those androgenous anime wannabe games!

I liked NWN. Let me know how #2 is. November is novel writing month, so I'm going to stick with WoW noodling for my gaming.

There are so many good games coming out. I might have to wait on FFXII and NVW2 for a bit and see how you all like them. Between the new Splinter Cell, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Gears of War in a few weeks and my Wii!!!! coming soon, the gaming funds are a tad low.

So any impressions on NVW2 Aruth or Wrasse? This is one that I am really jonesing to get, but only if my friends dig it and I would have some people to play the mods with. The reviews I have read say the gameplay is great but graphics not so much. As long as the gameplay is good though I should be set.

I haven't purchased it yet. I think I might wait until after the move, when things settle down a bit.

I picked it up for Ali and I yesterday...but we've run into some computer issues (Ali's PSU is failing and I have to pick her up a new one tomorrow and I had the hardest time getting my other SATA drivers working properly for a new hard drive I just purchased...my old IDE drive crashed...silly IDE drive). Anyway...I got my computer put together and ready to go and booted up NWN2 on medium settings (I'm about to upgrade the video card to extend the life of my system because I don't want to upgrade the mobo to PCIe just yet and can buy an AGP card that should last a while longer) and, I have to say, it looks great from what I saw. I can't believe I have to wait longer to play more of it but, from what I saw of the character creation (I do wish there were more heads/faces to choose from but there were plenty of hair styles and colorations to make your character distinct) and the intro, the game looks like it's going to rock. Oh and the armor sets that I saw and have seen in screen shots look amazing. I'll post much less rambling about my system and more about gameplay this weekend (we should both be up and running by tomorrow evening even though Ali needs a new graphics card to really appreciate the game...I'll give her my old one when I upgrade hehe).

Good to hear about the graphics. The gameplay is the key but good graphics are a bonus. I really liked the first one but never messed around online, and I would really like to try this one out.

Ali and I still haven't been able to play it much yet. We've been really busy most of the time but did try to mess around with it a bit this weekend. I do have to say that they spent little, if any, time optimizing this game engine. Ali should be able to at least run the game on lower settings considering the look of the thing but she can't even get a decent enough framerate to make the thing playable. If you have anything less of a 6800 NVidia chipset on your gfx card, I wouldn't even recommend the purchase. That said, we do have a new card on the way from newegg that will put her system up to speed. It's just a bit frustrating...the graphics are 'good' but no where near what they should be for the demand that they have on the system. This may be fixed with upcoming patches...who knows. The game does look incredibly fun...we're both very excited about playing through it and it does feel very DnDish. The camera takes some time getting used to especially after being away from these types of games for so long but I'm already pretty used to it again. I just think they released an un-optimized game that could have been fixed if they were patient in releasing it. I've also read (didn't notice myself but haven't played it long) that the radial menus of NWN 1 are gone...so it seems the interface may have taken a step or two backwards. I'll have my full impressions written up this next weekend when Ali and I actually have time to play. (with the new gfx card )
