On Sunday, just as we were finishing up a DSM run, I started to experience a graphic glitch. My screen would freeze, go black and then reset and as if nothing had happened. We finished up the run and it was late, so I didn't bother with trying to work out the problem.
The next couple of days I played the game with no trouble. Then on Wednesday after an hour or so of playing, I noticed the problem again. By Thursday I could barely play for 5 minutes without it happening and the game would eventually crash.
I've tried the restore option for the game, with no luck. I've tried rolling back my Video Drivers and updating to Beta Drivers, again with no luck.
I've monitored the GPU temp, and it's never gone above 74˚C which I think is fairly reasonable. However I did notice the GPU Load % would max out at 99% then bottom out to 0%.
Anyone have any idea if this could be linked to my problem?
I tried playing LFD2 and had no issues at all, so I doubt it's my card. But who knows...

Are you using an ATi card? I updated my drives via the Catalyst Control Center and then ceased to have the issue. (This had happened to me about two weeks ago a few times)

I have the same card, though I think ours are built by different companies, but no issues so far with Rift.

So last night I decided to clean install some archived Video drivers as some people reported that it helped them with similar video problems. Well, somehow I managed to bork my Windows 7 install in the process. So I had to do a complete reinstall of Windows 7, then install the archived drivers. No luck. At this point I may have to unsubscribe until TRION figures this out.

Okay, so I owe TRION an apology. Turns out it was my Video Card that was borked. Kind of pissed off because I just bought the card about 5 months ago. Stay away from Palit!
Anyway, I picked up a GTX 570 and I'm good to go.

Jealous of your new video card. I have had such issues in the past that whenever i have any graphics issues i always default blame to my cards heh. once i had one card heat up so bad the fan burned out and shot off leaving a charred hole in the middle of the card and causing damage inside my machine as the fan bounced around the case.
