I see most of you as the wine tasters of games. You smell it, slop it around in your glass, take a sip, and spit it out. Then, you pick up another glass to do it all over again. It's not a bad thing. I feel you all enjoy every wine you taste, like a good wine taster does. It makes me believe I fit right in with you all. In the last couple years my pallet has looked like this: 1. WAR 2 months 2. AoC Beta 3.Cataclysm 2 months 4. Aion 2 weeks 5. All Cryptic beta 6. DCUO beta 7. EQ2 1 month 8. CoH 14 day trial 9. EvE 14 day trial 10. RIFT ? I'm really enjoying RIFT a lot more than any of those other games. I don't have that nagging feeling the game is going to leave a bitter taste in my mouth. I want to get a feel for my guild mates that are a lot higher level than me. What do you think about RIFT's future with you? Are you a 1 monther? Are you starting to get bored?

I'm not at all "bored" with any of the content I see for the first time. I am however bored with seeing Freemarch for the second time as I've been toying with a Cleric (more on that in a post later today). I still get excited to be able to jump on and play and I think while the Rift's themselves were a point of amazement to me at one time, that excitement has dwindled somewhat. What DOES keep me going is the classes/souls. I have a TON of fun trying out new setups. In fact, most of the fun I have in any MMO is from class mechanic discovery. So being able to switch souls so rapidly and try new things without having to start from scratch will most likely keep me in the game longer than I initially expected. So at least 2 months.

I am personally still having a blast and I'm confident that I'll still be playing the game in 3 months time.
I have never played an MMO where levelling has not been my primary focus until RIFT. I'm having so much fun working on achievements, hunting artifacts and just general exploring that levelling seems like a by-product of the fun I'm having.
There's only one point of concern I have about the game so far. For the first 20 levels, getting involved in RIFTs and completing them was a no-brainer. The population was thick and a full raid would usually join in on the fun. Now that I'm in my 30s I'm finding RIFTs to be more difficult to complete. The population in the area isn't as thick and I've even watched players ride by as I attempt to take a RIFT down solo. I'd hate to see pre-50 RIFTs go the same way PQs did in WAR.
Other than that, full steam ahead I'd say!

I bought a 6 month sub. If I'm still playing at the 6 month mark, I'll probably buy another one. For now it's been cruise control to 50, taking all the questing goodness (i've probably completed 90% of it all) and dipping toes in the PvP. I won't really have a better idea of the lasting power until I hit 50 and feel around for the end game a little bit. Seems like a lot of expert dungeons, achievement hunting, and PvP to be done.
Also there's a matter of post-release content from Trion. If they're serious about banging out some heavy content this summer, then I'll stick around to see it. They probably have around 3 months from launch before the general playerbase hits the cap. Two (or three) weeks in and we've still got primetime queues seems like a good general health indicator. I'm also interested in how they'll handle the imminent downtick after the 30-day mark. Or if they'll even have one.
It's still really early. But I'm in about as deep as you can get... for now.

I'm not "bored" per say but I am a little tired of questing. Still, the PvP is great (albeit annoying when people do stupid stuff ;D) but overall the content is solid. By balancing my time between both Rift and EVE, I find I'm enjoying both a lot by keeping them fresh and avoiding burnout.

The only reason I haven't played lately is things that are not Rift's fault. I enjoy it immensely when I play it. TBH, I am in no hurry to level up since I lost a week and got left in the dust (*tear*) since it's going to be a while until we can sustain high level dungeon content as a guild. (In that vein, I really need to get off my lazy ass and organize that CoTN/CoT chat channel.)

I am hoping for the best at this point. As I am now grinding (literally) Black Garden on my way to Prestige Rank 4, I'm realizing that this game isn't going to be able to hold me as it is now.
The end game is lacking. But I'm also not a happy dungeon runner. 4 Scenarios to choose from and only 1 worth your time translates to pretty shallow PVP. We have the Open PVP server, but its really not enough. I have no enjoyment in picking on lowbies trying to quest.
Progression was too fast. 1-50 should have been harder to do. Prestige builds a little too fast to rank 4. Don't know about 5 or 6. But meh. I'll get bored and do a bunch of unlocks to keep me in. But I'm here for the guild and will probably stay as long as they do.
I continue to update my list of needed improvements and adjustments to Trion in to feedback practically each day I log. But they have a polished game that is still small and fairly quick to run through. I'm hoping for a content patch (that promised PVP island of Forts) in the next couple of months. If we have to wait a year, I'm not sure my subsription will hold to that.
I'm sure we will see all kinds of content in expansions in the future. TRION is hiring and have big outlooks on the future. Not sure if it will be fast enough to keep me happy.
In terms of wine tasting. This is like a Riesling. You can't go wrong, its going to make everyone happy at the table. It's in everyone taste and hard to find a dish that doesn't compliment it. At the same time, someone saying their wine taste of choice is a Riesling doesn't really impress the masses.
In a way, WAR spoiled me. Sure you could get to 40 fast, but 80 was almost unreachable (at time of release). End game gear was also out of sight. Even mid level was a challenge after 3 months in.
In RIFT, we were in Expert Dungeons doing full clears that night we hit 50. We only have 1 step away from clearing the 'End Game' dungeon. And we just found out last night one of our servers guilds just did it.
Big patches and quick is my hope. Kind of regretting buying the 3 month sub. Might not make it to April 1st before 'beating' the game.

I really need to get off my lazy ass and organize that CoTN/CoT chat channel. It's been up since Day 1 of headstart... /chatjoin circleoftrust It even keeps you in the channel after you log out and log back in, unlike Aion's private chat channels Now we just need more than the current 30% of each guild to join the channel... I will do my part to continue to promote it within CotNS

Holy crap, I completely forgot about the chat channel. Need to make mental notes of this kind of stuff. Or stick post-its all over my monitor.

I have to say, I am having fun. Just wish I had more time to play. I think about how much of a grind Aion turned into once I reached into the 20s and so far I am not feeling it here. I do wish it had a little more PVP content.

I didn't really intent for that to be the joint channel but if CotNS people are in there it is as good a channel as any. ^_^ I'll start promoting it while I am on.

I also bought the 6 month subscription, and the way things are looking now I'll go to the end of it at least. 9 bucks a month? Not too shabby. I'm having fun trying to quest, helping out with drive by heals in Rifts and invasions on the way, and getting into the occasional dungeon run is great too. It's getting popular with the account hackers and gold farmers, which is not so good.
Also, I think I should drop runecrafting; it's just getting too tough to get all the materials to level it up. I've already started one crafting alt that's just there to send me all his runebroken materials.

Just spam boots, they only cost 4 leather/cloth and break down into plenty good items once you reach composite/exotic/etc.
