I finally made it to level 50 in RIFT after about 6 months. Now that I'm there, I dont want to play the game anymore. It just the same crap different game. Dailies suck just for rep grind and hate dungeon crawling.
My only hope is for SWTOR to change things with a story. I started doing the Rift story and gave a shit less. The voice acting is bad and the story is disconnected from the game. I have need to save Telara because it downtown do anything for me. Rift is a good game but it is a basic game. It's like an action movie with a boring plot. See Transformers 3 for reference.
People say SWTOR has story but it is just WoW clone. I'm saying that element is going to change the way we play MMOs. If SWTOR is WoW clone then my time in MMOs is short because I don't see GW2 changing the way we play MMOs drastically. Ya graphics look great and game play looks fun, but seem arcadey. I will buy and play the game, but not sure I'll enjoy it as much as a story type MMO.
I guess there is a plus and minus to all games. WoW has a huge community and a well oiled treadmill. Rift has dynamic events and is updated constantly. SWTOR has story with meh combat and GW2 has exciting combat, dynamic events and a meh story. Idk, I'll have to wait and see, but I don't see myself playing Rift past my Oct 4 sub.

Er...GW2 has a meh story? We barely have any information about it beyond the elevator pitch. I will agree with this though; very little effort was put into integrating Rift's fairly decent lore into their quests, which more or less eroded my engagement in that world...and thus my interest to visit it. I do think you're condemning both SWTOR and GW2 a bit prematurely though. I have my reservations about SWTOr's combat, but I am holding out hope I can be surprised.

Oh I'm not dooming them before I even get a chance to play them. GW2 looks super fun to play and SWTOR has an awesome new look at doing MMOs. I'm looking forward to both very much.
