So is GW2 going to be going the scenario route? I thought GW was about open world pvp where anything could happen? If that is the case that's a major downer for me I get so tired of doing the same old scenarios over and over.

It has both, and they're not related. They're not currently showing WvWvW, but have confirmed it's still in the game and a major part of their PvP. The arena PVP is essentially their attempt to make GW2 an eSport (because in that style of PvP, you get preset armor/weapons [stats wise, not appearance wise] and access to all traits and skills and a bump to level 80), while the WvWvW is less structured and does not give auto access to all traits and skills but still auto-bumps you to level 80). WvWvW is said to be alot like the PvP lakes in WAR were. Except much much larger. I ran across a PvP FAQ on GW2Guru not too long ago. Let me see if I can find it.

Mostly just small iterations and polishing details. They keep changing how skills will be acquired, but it's not clear if they've settled for the current "Use a weapon and gain skills" system. They've also begun polishing their conversation system, in the visual sense. It looks very nice, but it's not exactly something that's gonna get someone excited unless they've bought in. Other than that, they've mostly been taking the game to cons and pitching it. The cons tend to be great for footage but not for new information. They have, however, said they will be announcing the final profession before the end of the year, and have hinted strongly that we may see a limited and/or closed beta before January. On the PVP front, they've been showing off their version of WAR senerios, which are highly organized PvP with standardized levels and equipment. Still not details on WvWvW. They've also mentioned you can freely move from Shard to Shard without any fee or delay, but you may be barred from WvWvW benefits for an unspecified period of time if you do. If there was one thing that's blown my mind though, it would be the Sylvari redesign. They are beyond awesome in their current state; most assuredly my race come launch. www.arena.net/blog/kristen-perry-on-designing-and-redesigning-the-sylvariwww.arena.net/blog/the-sylvari-soulI'm honestly not following it as closely as I was before, mostly because of SWTOR and the Great Game Deluge of 2011. This not to say I'm any less excited for it. I am.
