So what server type is everyone considering? PVE or PVP

Historically we roll on RP-PvE servers For those amongst us who are Sith, I imagine a PvP server is only fitting.

It all depends on the rule-set of the PvP server itself. Sith don't kill each other simply because it's fun. They do so to further their position or increase their power (and not in small increments). More importantly...to steal an apprentice if they have none.

So what you're telling me is if they have a PK server, we're rolling that?

I wasn't around when you guys played DAOC but I don't remember there being any pve servers in that game. I will never understand why people play PVE when they can have the challenge of competing against another human. I think you guys should keep an open mind to pvp. Most pvp games I play have far fewer immature players than the care bear games, not to mention that you can kill the annoying people. Plus playing as a guild on a pvp server creates a great sense of teamwork and loyalty having to protect and watch each others back. Just my two cents.

Probably because "the challenge of competing against another human" usually involves a human who is much, much higher level than you. Given the raw numbers and lack of twitch to rely on, this means you cannot win. I would totally jump on a PVP Max level server though; the idea being that PvE rules apply until the level cap is reached. That would be awesome. Also, I played Darkfall's free trial. The maturity level I saw was about the same; very, very low.

Not sure if you could have seen Darkfalls true player base if all you did was the trial. It takes a long time to get to the meat of that game. Plus I don't think TOR is going to have a free for all pvp. There will most likely be systems to prevent high level characters from killing newer toons. Is anyone planing on playing a bounty hunter on the pve server?

DAOC had care-bear servers and PvP servers. The difference was that in the normal servers enemies could not enter your lands. They could only be fought in battlegrounds and openly contested zones for castles and the like. The PvP servers were a free-for-all hack fest and guild vs guild battles, rather than faction vs faction (Realm vs Realm).
The only thing that stops me from entering into PvP servers these days, is the all or nothing tag. I loved my time in DAOC on and off PvP servers. I just would rather separate my PvP time from my PvE time, when the open questing world is involved.
