Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Empire Q&A - Part 1
We mark the launch of our new fansite for EA Mythic's game with a video featuring Design Manager Paul Barnett
November 17, 2006 - Befitting its name, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning takes place within a world where armed conflict is constant and ubiquitous. The subtitle refers to a desperate period for the two contending sides, each comprising three playable factions drawn from Games Workshop's internationally popular fantasy-themed universe created over two decades ago. What's more, there are longstanding racial enmities among them. A burning mutual hatred exists between the honorable Dwarves and their neighbors, the brutish Orcs. The Human Empire is relentlessly threatened by the mutant forces of Chaos, while the patrician Elves face the daunting menace of their evil Dark Elf brethren.
Play starts off within these ancestral pairings, but characters can move to other fronts to join their friends from allied armies. The ultimate objective in the inter-realm warfare is to seize the enemy's capital, which requires invading its homeland and winning key battles that take place in goal-based areas and instanced scenarios. An interesting twist is that although Player vs. Player combat and Player vs. Environment quests will occur on the same map, it will still be possible to contribute to the war effort without participating in the former. Naturally, we're following the game closely to keep you fully informed.
