Armor Decay
They haven’t announced anything about how they’re going to do this, but I was wondering what your views were on armor decay.
What’s your preference and why? Do you like items lasting forever with no decay Items lasting forever with repairs by NPCs & player crafters Items lasting forever with repairs by player crafters only Items that last forever with repairs and additional raw materials Decay with the ability to repair but eventually decay to a point of no use Other – see post below
I would like it if items decayed but player crafters could make repair patches by using resources, sell them on the AH (assuming they have one) and then they would always be available to people and you wouldn’t have to stop playing and go find a crafter that happened to be online in your area when you needed a repair. NPCs could repair items, but maybe the repair doesn’t last as long or isn’t a 100% repair or costs a lot more or something to encourage people to buy the crafted repair kits. If they had the cost be expensive from the NPC, it would also prevent the crafters from massively over gouging because no one would pay more than what the NPCs were charging.
I think decay should be rather slow. I don’t want to repair every day.

Call me crazy, but I was pretty content with the DAOC equipment decay system in its entirety, and would be fine with the same implementation in WAR. Well, I should clarify...I was okay with how it was implemented from a melee standpoint. I can't really speak for the casters since I never took one over 30.

I didn't really mind the system in DAoC. My end game gear that I crafted for my 50's never really took a hit in durability, so I think you would have to play a TON to go through decent gear.

I've never had to retire a piece of gear due to wear. Even the stuff I bought pre-damaged in the market lasted. Plus I think most peeps had a swap-set of gear for screwin around in
