That player collision detection can be a bad thing. Any old EQ'ers remember afk Ogre's blocking dungeon hallways?

i agree.
although i'd like to think that it will add to tactics and what not, the reality is that people, if left to be a-holes, will be a-holes.
i'm also wondering how much extra lag that could add, but I guess that's for the devs to work out.

Probably none...at least it never seemed to impact other games I have played with it. The problem isn't only from malicious or ignorant players, it also happened a lot around merchants and the like...well, pretty much anything you have to get close to, it can be blocked, intentionally or otherwise. I hope and assume they will give it a lot of careful thought.

Again, I like what I hear. As a back row caster in camelot, I hated it when their tanks would run right through my friends and kill me in 2 hits.

Good point. Collision detection/clipping with enemies would probably be a good thing, but not with allies.

Good point. Collision detection/clipping with enemies would probably be a good thing, but not with allies. Yea, that's the way to go and that would rock. I'd love to be a tank and actually be able to protect the jammie wearers with skill and my fat Orc or Dwarven self.

As long as they make it so the little goblin healer can't completely hide within the big fat orc warrior.

i hadn't seen where this was confirmed but I read this off a post on Warhammer Alliance: www.warhammeralliance.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6381so player collision detection is only in against enemies. that is neater if it's true! he's a new poster so of course he got the standard welcome there: but no one said that his statement wasn't true (and they love to do that over there) so good sign. of course it's still beta, things can change and blah blah blah.
