Post subject: Something I found interesting in White Dwarf 321
Ok so I just got the latest White Dwarf magazine and there is an article called Ravening Hordes and it profiles the fourteen armies you can play in Warhammer. It’s a basic overview of all the armies for beginners. However the interesting part is that they have all fourteen broken off into seven groups of two armies facing off against each other. The pairings are:
Dark Elves vs. High Elves
The Empire vs. Hordes of Chaos
Dwarfs vs. Orcs and Goblins
So far just like W.A.R. has. The Hordes of Chaos army is even a Tzeentch themed army. (This I found very interesting, I have a feeling that well be seeing more and more of Tzeentch in official GW campaigns and such leading up to he release of W.A.R.)
So I looked at the other pairings and thought, hey maybe this is what Games Workshop considers the best pairings for each race and maybe this is a preview of what we’ll see in future expansions of W.A.R.
So the other pairings:
Bretonnians vs. Vampire Counts
Skaven vs. Lizardmen
Tomb Kings vs. Ogre Kindoms
Wood Elves vs. Beasts of Chaos.
I guess the hardest pairing to see if the Tomb Kings vs Ogre Kingdoms. In that case I guess the Tomb Kings would be the forces of Order and the Ogres the forces of Destruction. I don't know either armies lore very well so I am really not sure why they would be fighting. Considering how hard these two armies would be to implement, it’s the one pairing I would think would not make it into W.A.R.
