They said on their Twitter that they are looking at the use of the private stores too. Said they aren't sure what they will do, if anything, but are aware of people using them for long hours of AFK and are "talking about it".

Ever notice how many people are just sitting around selling stuff. I heard last night that they do that while AFK to stop from being kicked.

The majority, not all, are definitely using it as a way to stay in game and avoid queues. That is why NC Soft is looking at it. Don't know if they will do anything about it as it is most likely only a short term problem.

I'd be happy if they made it so you could turn off the signs or the private stores so the world wouldn't look so cluttered.
Another option would be to create a bazaar zone like in EQ where you have to go in order to set up a store. Then have the vendor be a npc that sells while you are logged out. It could be a clone of you.
But really, with an auction house, you don't need private stores. That is a leftover from the asian gaming style.

i love the personal store option. It's a great feature, just being used in a kinda bad way.
I can't say much, I've been one of those people -_-

They seem so inefficient compared to brokers/auction houses. Too hard to find what you need. You use those when you are too lazy to code an AH.

Really, the only reason personal stores are in the game is because of asian culture. I was suprised that they left them for the western audience, but I really don't mind the legit ones. And if the game can support having them and not have it affect the queue, I can see having like alchemy and leaving one open with goods near a raid entrance or something with stuff people may need.
