We want to include everyone in the podcast that wants to be in it, but our podcast is limited to about 30 minutes and the more people we have on the podcast, the harder it is to fit everyone’s points into the podcast. On the last podcast, you probably notice that everyone talks unnaturally fast. I had to cut out over 30 minutes of audio and then I still had to speed it up by 9% in order to fit it in to our podbean account’s limitation. Also, the more people involved, the more likely people are to talk over each other as people aren’t sure when to begin talking. The result is that some people stop adding in their thoughts. We’ve found that with 3 or 4 people we have a more natural flow of conversation in the podcast.
Generally, what we’ll do is we’ll have 3 hosts and 1 “on the spot” person. On the days we have a guest, we won’t do an “on the spot” segment.
If you want to be considered to be a CoTCast host, please post below and we’ll invite people in order of guild seniority and move down the list each show. If you’re not available for the recording date that you’re chosen, we’ll simply put you at the top of the list to invite for the next one.
There will be times when we don’t have someone available for a “on the spot” segment, so for those episodes we’ll just fill in with who is available based on the rotation so you may become a senior podcast host in time.
TO BE ON THE SHOW : You have to be in Circle of Trust. Anyone who is not in Circle of Trust is considered a guest. Read below for requirements.
CoT : Post in this thread. Read the HOW TO COTCAST post. You don’t have to listen to all those podcasts listed there, but read the tips listed there. You will need Skype. You will need to minimize atmosphere noise during the recording session (if your kid is having a sleepover that night, you may want to pass on hosting the show). You’ll need to confirm that you’ll be available fairly quickly so that we can move on to the next in line if you’re not able to do it. If you don’t confirm within 24 hours of being asked, we’ll move on to the next in line and you’ll be first asked again for the next podcast if there isn’t a special guest. If plans change and you’re not available, please let me know as soon as possible so that I can get a replacement. If you want to be in the podcast, you’ll be invited to collaborate on the outline of the show and you will be expected to follow that outline during the show. We don’t have a strict script, and we’re kinda relaxed but we we’ve found that an outline helps prevent 2 hours of tangents.
Guests : If you would like to be a guest on CoTCast, you must fill one of the following requirements (in no particular order):
Due to our explicit rating, you must be at least 18 years of real life age. If you do not meet one of these requirements, please do not ask to be on the podcast. We always reserve the right to deny a guest spot even if you meet one of these requirements. This podcast is for our guild, from the perspective of our guild. There are many great WAR podcasts out there designed for a larger audience that may be better suited for you and your message. If you meet one of our requirements, please e-mail circleoftrust.guild@gmail.com to request a spot and let us know what you’d like to discuss.
Those participating in the show will receive a final draft of the show outline on the day of the recording. You are expected to read this before recording begins.
Time : We always do the show in 1 take. We attempt to make the show as natural as possible – meaning we try to keep it to 30 minutes of recording time. This has not happened yet, but we’re getting better at it. If you’re planning on being on the show, it’s a good idea to schedule to be available for about an hour of actual recording time. If the recording date/time needs to be adjusted, we can sometimes accommodate the change if we have enough notification for all involved.
Bumpers : We’ll take these from almost anyone and use them when we gosh-darned feel like it. They must be under 20 seconds in length. Bumpers generally follow the following format : Say who you are, what your affiliated with and state that the audience is listening to CoTCast. If you ever want to do a bumper for the podcast, please save it in mp3 or wav format and e-mail it to circleoftrust.guild@gmail.com.
Special Segments : These are done by CoT volunteers. They must be 1 to 4 minutes in length. If you have an idea for a segment, please e-mail circleoftrust.guild@gmail.com. You can either type them to be read or record them and send as an mp3 or wav file.
Comments, questions, concerns, errors, feedback, whatever : You can type this up or record it as an mp3 or wave file and send it to circleoftrust.guild@gmail.com and we may use it on the show.

Spot 1 : Main Host : Generally Zeli, but can be another willing Senior CoTCast Host. I still have to be at each one, because I do the recording and editing and publishing but I can just listen in.
Spot 2 : Senior CoTCast Host : Aberrant, Winin, Maeve, Thrakus, or Wrasse
Spot 3 : Senior CoTCast Host : Aberrant, Winin, Maeve, Thrakus, or Wrasse
Senior CoTCast Hosts : Not all Senior CoTCasters need to be available for all shows. We will alternate so as not to monopolize these people’s precious game time. Generally people who’ve done a few of these together begin to feel more comfortable doing them and have a more natural flow with each other. More people will be considered a “Senior CoTCast Host” as they do more shows.
On the Spot/Guest : Revolving
- Kaarenyth
- Raizir
- Pazzolupo
