DAoC Introduces - “A Dragon’s Revenge”
Electronic Arts recently outlined their plans for DAoC in 2007 and according to EA Mythic staff unleashing the dragons of each realm is a part of those plans. Instead of concentrating on paid expansions EA Mythic has announced that they will be focusing on providing in game experiences by running campaigns. Each campaign will last six months and will be rolled out in stages lasting two weeks each. Each campaign will more deeply involve players into the world of Camelot and offer new challenges and quests. You will not need to grind through the campaigns to improve your character, taking part is optional, but rewards and an all new fun factor will make it worthwhile.
Each of the three realms will apparently see their dragons rise up and lay siege to the world. Campaings offer a more interactive experience with the possibility of great rewards. Each campaign is slated to last six months, across three patches and rolled out in new installments every two weeks. These are not traditional live events, but rather epic encounters and quests that players can enjoy either as they unfold or go back later and work their way through. Additionaly, since European players receive expansion packs at later dates EA mythic has assured its members that the campaigns will not lead to “spoilers” being created in the US before EU players get their chance.
