So last night I had the joy of windows taking a big pooh on me. Tried to install my fang board, then uninstall it because the stupid thing would not autoudate.
It wouldn't uninstall so me being a bright guy(sarcastic) I deleted the files manually from the HDD and registry. After that, windows wouldn't load.
So I ran a repair, but during the repair it keeps asking for vga.agp file that's not on the windows disk. Is that my video card driver?
I don't have my card disk, I DL'ed the drivers.
I don't want to reformat if I can avoid it. Some of my son's pictures are on the HDD and I really want to save them. If I have to format I'm gonna try to slave it first to my other system and pull the files manually.
Pain in the ass.
So I thought I would ask around here.
Hope it's a simple fix and I'm just dumb.

Can you boot into windows safe mode? If so...
Do you have system restore turned on? Can you restore from that?
Did you backup the registry before editing? Can you restore that?
Hmm...can you search online for that file? Maybe someone else has had that trouble. Download it to a flash drive and then suck it in from there.

I have a usb stick that should work.
Nah I can't get to safe mode anymore either. Tried that last night. Just hangs on the blue screen just before you get in windows. Now I started the repair and I can't skip it anyhow it seems. Yea I will have to search for that file or drum something up and fix later.
Thank for the idea I didn't think to do that. Did some searches on this topic but found nada and thought maybe it was much simpler than I was making it out to be.
Just take off the legs and the cushions and it'll be easier.
