Downloaded the Beta today and started playing w/ it a little bit. Anyone its not bad per say, w/ out the extensibility of FF I don't think I'll change my preferred browser any time soon. But thought I would see how anyone else has to say about it. Quick review. Its quick. It works as expected. Its Clean the 'most visited' pages is pretty cool (COT is top so far its a browser and its functional integration looks pretty good. Over all - I'll keep giving it a whirl with beta and see what they launch in production (of course since gmail is still in beta it could be a while). Anyone working with it at all and have any thoughts? Only bug I've found so far is form fields (such as this text box I'm typing in) sometimes there is a white text line where I'm typing and roll over to a new line (normally if I'm spelling something wrong) but hey that will just make me spell better huh

I ran it for 2 days and then uninstalled it. It wasn't bad, but needs more work.
It is a hair quicker than FF3/IE7, but they have always been fast for me, so the difference wasn't that noticeable.
CPU util can get crazy high....but I understand this is just beta still, and hopefully poor coding will get cleaned up/fixed.
Being able to close individual tabs if they crash was really handy.... because it happened several times.
Lack of adblock and privacy issues are the deal breaker for me, personally. (yes I realize you can turn off autocomplete for some privacy)
Aesthetically, I'm not a fan of the Apple-style 'modeled for retards' simplistic interface.
Oh, I really liked the part in their initial EULA that grants Google "a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, and non-exclusive licence to reproduce, adapt, modify, translate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute any Content which you submit, post or display on or through, the Services." They got around to changing that after a not-so minor uproar.
I'll stick to using FF3/IE7, with Google Toolbar for now.

Hmm, lets see, Google willfully violates copyright law and scans and posts material on the web. Their policy is to break the law and not take any material down unless the author sues them to do so.
Why would I believe any claims that they make about adhering to privacy laws? I'm sure they are tracking and storing (and selling or using) everything people do through their browser.
Firefox works well for me. Unless another browser comes along with a vast improvement (like no tabs > tabs), I'll not likely change.

well I think it's fast. Google is very fishy though.
I don't know how no one has nailed them for invasion of privacy on that google world crap.
I mean taking pictures of your property and posting it on the web with no permission seems unlawful to me.
They take alot of liberties with the web and really seem like they are the big giant bully doing what they will at the moment.
Yea that EULA thing was ridiculous. But that may become a law in the US soon anyways so who knows.
The net is becoming more and more dangerous for artists or anyone who's not in control.

I used it for a week or so and tried to like it but as y'all have pointed out, it's still a bit rough at the moment.
Chrome hangs up at weird times, stops functioning on occasion, text input boxes are screwy and tends to cause your hard drive to thrash uncontrollably. =)
I did find (what seems to be) a fix for the writing to HD problem if anyone is interested. It stopped once I unchecked "Enable phishing and malware protection" in the "Under the Hood" tab in options.
I do like the look of it, it's really clean. And overall seems faster than either IE of FF but like Saturday Night Live, it's just not quite ready for prime time.

Haven't had a chance to run the FF 3.1 beta yet, but Chrome is much better for a JavaScript bloat work application we have to use. I do miss my privacy features from FF though. Other than that, I've found Chrome to be very functional as a browser. Appeals to my minimalist nature.

I run it at home and work, with some tweaking its great, i just cant get it to interface with my Quicktime plugin. And that causes a lot of problems with many sites i visit. As for as adblocking, I run a Utility called Privoxy. It gets rid of any unsightly ads for you by running it through a privately hosted proxy. Havent noticed any slowdowns with it.
I do get random crashes, hangups and hard drive thrashes, and if gmail is any indication.. i don't think the thing will leave beta for another 10 years.

I use privoxify at home, just don't want to throw another proxy into the layer at work.
But yes, privoxify is a quite functional replacement for ad block in the short term.
As I said earlier, I've had zero crashes, zero HDD spin ups, and zero hangs. But I appear to be in the total minority here.
What quicktime errors are you having?
