Had my system drive go toes up in my primary rig tonight. PISSED off, the house is a mess as we're preping to have the basement finished so everything is out of place right now Just got it up, but still getting some strange performance, look to be getting a new HD tomorrow and rebuilding the whole dang thing again (i'll probably image it). Anyway - didn't lose anything i can't replace just the time sucks I'm swamped this week and really didn't have time for this. Well point of post was to see if anyone has recently bought an ATA drive that they're happy with?

Day two of my ordeal Started patching the shit out of the OS last night, woke up this morning, more corruption on the File system, so I've effectively wasted a night of effort, and get to re-do it all today Going to end up taking a couple of conference calls on my cell this afternoon so I can run out and pickup a drive. I know better then to expect technology to be blameless, but still it frosts my cookies when I have to invest some serious time and effort on getting my rig back to where it was. Saving grace is that my data volume/drive appears to be unimpacted. I preformed another backup last night but only of my 'critical data'.

Well - done three hours or installation and patching I've got the critical stuff back installed and setup for backups/replication again. I really need to get a ghost image of this SOB, ended up crashing last night after I got some of my games re-installed.
Realized I lost some of my favorites and some of the family's fav's too but if I dont' go there all the time I guess it doesn't really matter, and if I do I should remember what its name was.
Over all a pretty good process, just more effort then I really wanted to put into it.
