I waited and took advantage of their April 22nd price cut with my last CPU. Those are great deals on great chips for DIY'ers!
I've been a fan and user of AMD & ATI, but Intel & nVidia have won this round. I'm not a fanboy...I go where the most bang for the buck is, and right now thats a Core 2 Duo + geForce 8800.
Heck, that has me thinking about selling my e6420!

If this continues, I'll be upgrading earlier than I planned.
Yea, I usually buy AMD as well...but those prices are hard to pass up.

Whoa cool. That right about when I plan to upgrade. I was planning an one of the E6000's. Looks like I'll be scoring an awesome deal! Hardware prices continue to amaze me lately. I'm probably gonna grab a cheap DX9 card as well and just skip the first generation dx10's. The X1950Pro for $145

The x1950 Pro is a great card!
I came sooo close to buying that one, but came into a little extra upgrade dough at the last minute, so went with the eVGA 8800 GTS Superclocked.
I bet you can get a lot of mileage out of that 1950, at least through the first rev or two of the DX10's. Hell I got several years out of my good old 9800 Pro....in fact its still workin' hard in my wife's PC. That is without a doubt one of the best cards I have owned.

I'm still sporting the old 9800pro right now! I agree, it is an awesome card. I'm gonna be sad to see my current build go. Its ROCK solid.

Aruth, Tigerdirect has your card and the non-superclocked version for about the same price. What is the benefit of the superclocked? Is it loud? I have a nice, quiet system now and I don't want to put a helicopter in there. Thanks.

No, it's pretty quiet.
The 'Superclocked' one is factory overclocked.

Cool, I'm gonna get one. I got a little bonus at work and I'm tired of the low graphics settings. Thanks!
