Well it all started when the update (the one about 1 week and a half ago) Before The Storm came out. I routinely downloaded it and everything seemed fine. When I went on to play afterward, all the graphics were blotchy, things weren't there, interface buttons were all messed up. I thought blizzard just needed to restart the realms but nope. Every time i tried to get on i recived an error message "Windows Display Driver Has Stopped Responding" and the screen went dark and the game crashed. I can't tell you how many thing i have looked at for troubleshooting but nothing would work. I asked Aruth for some help and he saide files might be corrupted and I might need to uninstall then reinnstall the game. Well I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and at first it seemed it worked until my screen went black (while I was playing) and again it said "Windows Display Driver Stopped Responding" . For some reason i think that Blizzard changed the requirements or sumthin cause it was running just fine before. I've been running display tests but i don't think it's testing the right thing. O well. If you got any advice you can message me. or post here

I noticed in the release notes of the most recent patch a problem with the video drivers for acceleration issues.
you had to setup an entry in one of the WTF files. I'll try to dig around more - something like set videofast "2" (default is 3) other options were to go to "0" to set video acceleration off. Might just be for TBC but not sure.
Also might want to hit the technical forums on blizzard's site for your praticular model of video card there might be some information there on the issue your seeing. I know I had a SoundBlaster issue with my card and had to make a WTF file change to get it working correctly and would get similar errors from the WoW crash.

Similar thing happened when I installed TBC on our laptop last night. I ended up re-installing the video drivers then updated to the lastest DirectX afterward.
Everything played just fine after I did that. Hope you find a solution soon.

WOO i found a solution sorta. I did two things, first someone on technical forums said to try clicking properties on the WoW icon and change "C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Launcher.exe" to "C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Launcher.exe" -opengl Now i don't know if that did anything but second in the properties thing i saw that theer is an option to change level of compatibility. I changed it down to windows 2000 (even though i have windows xp) and whatdaya know it works, might be somewhat slow but i was able to do deadmines without a single lag today!
