I freakin loved the Monkey Island games.

Thinking of the book "Great Expectorations" from one of the games still makes me chuckle.

You don't have to be on a ship. I think you can hang out on land.

I haven't played this since the recent wipe. It is a fun game, though not too deep. Mostly combat and trade/tradeskill oriented. A fairly in-depth and hard-core trade/tradeskill system.
