I left this morning early to go to the bank, I figured I'd get there before it opened to beat the crowd, and I only had to use the machine anyway. I should have looked at the calender. It is check day, welfare and old age pension. It was a crowd of the most disgusting people you've ever seen. All the freaks were out. Half of them looked like they were either dying or had just snorted a line of coke before they left. YUM! I stopped outside the bank an looked at my watch, 5 Min's till it opened. I may as well wait. One man opened the door and told me to bring Raine in out of the cold, I look at the tiny doorway crowded by about 25 sickly looking old men and a few woman, and politely decline. We'll wait outside rather than fighting our way threw to the ATM.
Finally the bank opens and we run in to the machine. While I'm trying to pay a bill (Hort's I might add), Raine is wondering off talking to some of these strange old men, which she NEVER does. I keep bringing her back over by me until I finally have to pick her up too keep her from wandering off and try to deposit with one hand.
Then off to the mall to do some Xmas shopping. The mall was just as packed with strange people, and she just keeps wandering off on me. I'm getting impatient, because I'm not use to her acting that way. After her running off and taking off into another store, I took her out and sat her on the bench and told her if she didn't behave, we were leaving, I've had enough. She said sorry and actually started listening. I went to 3 stores and she followed along beside me, no whining, nothing. So as we were getting ready to leave I asked her if she wanted to go to Tim Horton's for a muffin, her favorite treat, because she was being good and listening to Mommy. That all went fine and dandy until we were ready to leave. I tried to put her jacket on and she took off across the hall, I caught her and got in on, but then she did the famous go completely limp so Mommy can't get me dressed move. I let her fall in the middle of the floor and stood there and looked at her. Usually she feels pretty silly and gets up and lets me dress her...oh no...not today. She starts screaming at me, telling me she doesn't want to get dressed. My last thread of patience that was growing stronger over the last little while snaps, I sit on her put her hat, mitts an start putting her scarf on when this lady walks up to us. She says here I'll help you and starts talking to Raine. She's telling her that you have to let Mummy wummy put on your mitty witties, or Santa Wanta won't come and give you any pressies. The woman went on like this for like 5 minutes. Raine was too stunned to say anything, she just stood there and looked at her. Then the womans said, there see, all you have to do is talk to them, rather than fighting with them, and walked away smugly. Raine was pulling at my arm and I looked at her. She said very matter of factly "Mommy, that lady is crazy!" I broke. I was kneeling on the floor in the middle of the mall, laughing so hard I was crying. Raine was laughing too. I said lets go home, and we left, no fuss.
I thought this crap is supposed to get better nearing 3 years old, not worse?!
