With the obstacles we're experiencing to get grouped up in Guild Wars, and with a handful of other MMO's out there that we could play, I thought it might be worth taking a look at what people would be interested in playing on a weekly basis.
If you guys can think of any other games that would work, let me know and I'll add them.
Still planning on playing Tuesday nights at 9pm EST, so take that into consideration when voting.

If Guild Wars is causing issues (I wouldn't know since I am a newbie to that game) then I would say EQ2X. Especially since it requires absolutely no money whatsoever to play it.
This is perfect for us Multiplayers since some people don't have said game, or don't want to buy it for intermittent play.
If, however, Guild Wars is not causing such extreme issues....I *think* it would be more fun....but again, I really don't know how it turns out. EQ2X definitely has more game/content.

LotRO f2pEQ2X PlansDDOI have not really followed the news regarding LotRO going free to play and didn't know what the limitations were. So I posted above links. I didn't really see a pricing guide for DDO. I think it is all free and you buy extras with Turbine points. Maybe Aruth or somebody who has played it since it went free can explain it.

The grouping issue in Guild Wars is mainly due to the fact that we're low levels. Not everyone has the same waypoints and until we all have (or have caught up to) other people's cities, it's hard to group up.
Once that's out of the way though there shouldn't be any problems.

To clarify...I own all of the options mentioned for the poll. As such, I have no issues playing one or the other. Whatever we all decide on I will be there...sometimes.

good point
The whole idea was that we could all start playing together relatively quickly, and it sucks to force anyone who wants to group with us in the future to level to a certain point first, but the more I thought of it this afternoon, the more I realized that at least leveling in Guild Wars isn't hard hehe

It's fair to keep in mind that EQ2 has a fantastic mentoring system that allows higher level players to "mentor down" to a lower level while grouping. It makes it much more enjoyable when you're playing with people of different levels. With that said...LOTRO is way more accessible, so I voted for it since I'll play that in a heartbeat with you guys

I think a game with mentoring is the best bet. I believe you can mentor up or down, so if everyone is low, the one high level can go down in level. If it is mostly a high group, the lowbie can mentor up to play. I think.

You can only mentor down.

I'm the lone DDO vote so far, but thats my selfish choice because I'm already in a regular static Tuesday night DDO group. I really enjoy the game, and think you get the most for the least amount of investment, both time and money. EQ2X I like, but its fairly boring until the 30's-40's in my opinion. Regardless, I'm playing all three: DDO, EQ2X, and LOTRO. (and we could use a couple more peeps in DDO if anyone is interested)

Slurm got 3/4 of the way thru from level 7 to 8 last night in less than an hour and that was with my level 20 main and two level 20 Hero henchmen filling out the party. I don't think he suffered any serious XP penalty... does that count as "mentoring"? (Needless to say I voted for GW but if EQ2X wins I will try it out, what the hell)

I should note that I voted for Guild Wars but would just as easily play LotRO.

I voted for GW, but have EQ2X and can install DDO again if needed. EQ2X just isn't filling that void for me like I thought it would. I am not willing to pay for any of the extras since the game really doesn't grab me like EQ1 or other mmo's have. DDO I tried for about a week, but I am not up to speed on the rules so I had no idea how to spec my ranger. Web articles didn't seem to help me either. LotRO I have never played.
With that being said, I will play any game with you guys just because it makes it 10 times more fun.

I abstained from voting. I don't own any of the Guild Wars games and probably won't buy them at this point. But if you end up in one of the freebies, I'll give it a whirl.
