CoT Christmas Party!
Saturday, December 20, 2008 is CoT’s 5th annual Christmas Party!
At our next meeting (11/25) we’ll discuss our traditions and plans and take suggestions and questions. Every year we have a gift exchange (in-game only) and so to do that, it takes a bit of planning.
First the in-game gift exchange!
How does the gift exchange work?
It often happens that a low-level person may receive a high-level person’s name. They are often nervous about how to obtain a gift that they can actually acquire for the person and have it be something of use. Remember the true spirit of this season and it’s the thought that counts. If you put your mind to it, you’ll think of something attainable and memorable for that person. My minstrel should still have a grey-item scarf in her bank that I got as a gift from an initiate our first year. Also, if you do have the means to get someone an uber gift, please understand that you will not receive something of equal value in return. There should be no expectation, only appreciation.
If you cannot be at the December 11th meeting to find out your person, the name will be PM’d to you on the CoT forums.
In the past, we’ve had people sign up for this only to forget. As you can imagine, it ruins the party for the person you let down. They had a person too and put a lot of thought and effort into their gift only to receive zero thought in return. Do not sign up for this event unless you are certain you are going to participate. If you cannot make it to the December 20th party and still want to participate, make sure you game-mail me the item so that I can present the person with their present at the party. If your person is not able to attend the December 20th party, you will game-mail them their present afterwards.
Participants:
RL Christmas Card exchange
I’ll begin another post for this sign-up, but we also do a real life Christmas Card exchange.
Christmas Party plans
We always try to dress up in red or green (or both) for the party.
Begin thinking now of a location you’d like to have the party at and of an after-exchange event. Generally we like to attempt a keep take in a wintery area even if it is a lost cause but we’re open to new ideas as well.
