Eating and watching videos are not mutually exclusive activities! Unfortunately, I can't have GW2 content beamed into my dreams....
I fully admit I got nothing done yesterday. >_>

From I've been reading Pand, the graphics are highly scalable and some press people have gotten the beta to run smoothly on mid-power laptops. Unfortunately, they didn't specify what "mid-power" was. A.net has also said, repeatedly, that making the game run well on low end machines is important for any MMO. Not to say they couldn't fail in that, but it's clearly something on their mind. That's encouraging.

Man the ideas this game is bringing to the table make SWTOR look like EQ1. I hope it holds up to the hype for launch and WvWvW doesn't turn into a massive Ilum. All I see isLag free PvP on a huge scale, an awesome queuing system, no shit UI, beautiful graphics and worlds that don't look like linear hallways with mobs standing in corners.

While I'm continuing my "ignoring of the hype train" in general, I know what I have previously read about the game did make it sound like it could finally be that "something new" I've been wanting in an MMO.
That being said, I've never played Guild Wars at all and really don't know if I'll play GW2 or not.
Although I've no doubt the Multiplaying crew will end up there, some way, some how. :-)

Just a note: I HATE Guild Wars 1. This might have the Guild Wars name, but it sure doesn't look or feel like GW1. This is build from the center of the earth up. I haven't seen a function that these 2 games have in common.

- 10 slot skill bar, more skills than can be used at once, must slot skills - PvP focus, with skills changing to PvP versions in some cases - Arena PvP - Ability to dodge (in GW1, it was more like strafing out the way though) - Purchase skills back playing
....Shall I go on? GW2 is definitely building on GW1, but it is mostly in the mid to back end. GW1 is in the philosophy, but everything I hated about GW1 (entirely instanced, no sense of community, bad, bad graphics, no meaningful exploration) is gone, replaced with pieces that feel more "standard" MMO-y. The game is much better for having both influences, otherwise we would have ended up with a WoW hotbar of 30 skills but only 5 of them being useful 90% of the time. It feels much more strategic in combat, which is definitely an influence of GW1. In most MMOs, combat is about rotations....nothing in GW2 I've seen so far suggests a rotation of any sort. In fact, it's actively punished - you are forced to react to what is going on, instead of just beating your head against the wall of rotations over and over and over and over and over and over again.

It's amazing how different the game looks/feels when you watch it played by someone using all the dodge mechanics at their disposal:
I feel this may be more representative of what the game will look like than most beta footage.

What meant was; The features that are the "same" have evolved. Unlike the other MMOs using cookie cutter systems just tweaking bits and pieces. - 10 skill slot but 1/2 weapon 1/2 character progression - never played GW1 PvP but WvW is very evolved - dodge seemed pointless in GW1 I never used it - not sure about purchase thing.
My point is; it looks way better than GW1 and it seems like it is shaking the foundations of other MMOs with new and evolved features. I read a comment that said:
" With the 1,000 employees BioWare has, why didn't they think or the alternate queuing system?"

Some info on the difference between Renown Regions (Heart symbol) and Dynamic Events.
