Last night I was questing through Alderaan, and it occurred to me that I get the legacy name after the class quest here. I decided against my better judgment to blitz past the normal quests and do only class story. I had it done in a couple hours, and they sent me on my last mission for Chapter 1. Now, I know that many people are not quite to this point yet, and many have past it long ago....but I just wanted to say that the end of Chapter 1 was so freaking badass. I had probably some of the coolest reveals and twists I've seen thus far. I had to make some harrowing decisions regarding my history and future. Obviously I will not post the full story/spoilers but suffice to say it was epic. The Legacy I decided on was "Taranis". I don't really know why, it just sorta popped in my head. I had been reading random articles about lores and when I saw this name, I remembered the ship in EVE. I started theory crafting the name together with my alt's names. Worked pretty damn good with all of them. A sort of balanced mix. Anyway, I was super excited and now I feel more so I can go back and complete some random bonus/heroic quests on Tatooine, and play Alderaan fully before moving on to the next section in my story. What about everyone else? Do you have your Legacy established? If so, what is it? If not, do you have any idea what name you want? Did you admittedly skip some content to go get the name you wanted? If you did, will you ever go back? Just curious about other people's thoughts on this. I was super excited to get the name I wanted and just figured I'd vent my joy before imploding.

I don't know what I'll use. I once had a character that required a last name, so I did "Winin Magnificent" but mostly as a joke. I've never done a character last name. Maybe "Terpin" after my novel's character?

I got to that point early this morning (right before the servers went down at 4amcst :0 ) and was trying to decide on the name. I have one picked out that I have used for a few games that allowed last names. Like you, I am thinking whether it really goes with most of the names I use for alts. So far in my head it does. When the servers come up, I will see if it is available.

It's not super creative, but since I didn't use my forum name as my character name, i'm going to use it as my legacy. that way people will know who i am at a glance.

LOL YOUR LEGACY NAME IS AN EVE SHIP, VICTORY IS MINE \o/
But yea, standard Eirikr is my Legacy name, has been in every game that gives last names. And to say that the end of Chapter 1 was epic is an understatement, it was fucking cooler than KOTOR man.

Actually Rer, I put a lot of thought into the meaning or significance of any name I use. For example, Pazzolupo means "crazy wolf" in Italian. What I really love about the name is that Taranis was/is the Celtic God of Thunder. So it fits very well with my characters and their personalities as I imagine them. I am very happy/lucky to have gotten a name that works so well for me.

I'm still gonna say "lol your legacy name is an EVE ship victory is mine" just with less enthusiasm now :<

Went with "Dedseksie" for mine. It's the second of only three names I've used for MMO characters since I first rolled on SWG back in ?2003?. I don't like it as a last name, per se, but one of the setting for displaying the legacy is as a subtitle, so "The Dedseksie Legacy" works rather well. Chapter 1 for the Consular was pretty good, but didn't grab me anywhere near as much as Chapter 2 (or maybe it's 3). Things really heat up, and seeing the line "you now have military authority" in one of the class conversations was a "hell yeah" kinda moment. It wasn't until I got my final companion that I had the very first difficult choice, however. I actually got a string of three affection losses with Nadia Grell, because I just couldn't pick the options I knew she wanted. Bioware's done an amazing job with all this. /pumped

I did the same just to get my name. I chose Booster because that is my legacy. I know it is not creative and Star Warsie, but it's what I wanted. I'm not much of an RPer so people that don't like it can jump off a cliff

You'll be happy to know Scary that Booster actually IS Star Wars canon, Booster Terrik is an important character in the Thrawn Trilogy series (GREAT books by the way)

Panda, I say this having only just completed Chapter 1, but I firmly believe that the Dark Side vs Light Side choices have a severe impact on your story experience. To put it lightly, I have directly killed more innocent civilians and force sensitive creatures than I can recall, and on top of that, more than a handful of Jedi Masters. As in, by my hand alone. On top of that, I directly doomed a currently unknown quantity of Jedi Masters to death at the end of Chapter 1 all due to choices I made in my story. All that was told to me by the Council was, "There has been a massive shift in the Force." (there's more but details tend to spoil)
I'm not saying that this is all new or whatnot, but to feel that my actions directly resulted in thousands of deaths is pretty insane. Despite me roleplaying this Consular as pure evil, I would be lying if I said I felt nothing when doing so. What was I to do though? Let the plague run rampant? HAH! Yea right. Was the sacrifice worth it? I think so.

lol. Yeah, I could see Dark Side making things a lot more interesting. Still, it's not that the story was bad, so much as it became repetitive. Even had I gone the Dark Side route, I still knew by Alderaan what I was going to do and how it would end. So perhaps I shouldn't say that story didn't grab me so much as each planet's outcome was too predictable. Dark Side might have made it more exciting, but it still would have been the same outcome four times in a row. The Rift Alliance felt like it had a bit more variety in how each planet was resolved, and the overarching story was definitely a "save the galaxy" setup. Chapter 1 was just saving a few Jedi Masters. In Chapter 2 and on, I'm preparing the galaxy for war.
So, in short, I don't think it's the choices so much as it was that Chapter 1 was 4 mini-chapters that all ended in the same, predictable way. Following that, things have had a bit more variety. Still, even Chapter 1 had some great lore, and Vivicar was definitely a nice resolution.
