thewarrealm.com/?p=2383What they MEANT to say was:“Because no one is playing our shitty game anymore, we created digital pets to keep you company on your level grind” For what it's worth, I'll be grinding to 55. The level grind remains intact but the gear grind has been reduced slightly with the introduction of WoW-style "badge gear" from daily quests. Looks like they are slightly increasing quest reward money too and adding a few new instances. Is that enough to get lots of people to return to the game? Hell no. But the existing playerbase seems to think it is an improvement. This is about retention as much as anything else. If you adjust your tinfoil hat properly, you will come to the realization that Aion is not really intended for Western gamers at all. NCSoft could have tuned the game to our preferences but decided it wasn't worth the extra investment... all their development costs are being paid out of their Asian customer base. Here in the West they just need to recoup the costs from translators/support staff/server hosting and it's pure profit after that... just need to cash in a bit longer until Guild Wars 2 is ready

Yeah, I put up with this game far longer than most of you, and I have to say, it was fun for a while. Eventually though I had to face reality, that the PvP was based on numbers you brought to zerg with, and that there was no advantage to trying to do anything tactically superior when the other team had you outnumbered by a factor of ten. Bad launch, which you all remember, yes? Horrible security, or I suppose NO security would be more accurate. Kinah farmers, poer levellers, and bots outnumbering real players? Oh yes.
Well, enjoy it if you're staying, hope it's fun.
Careful in there. You might get something Ajax won't take off.
