I guess there are still people playing Aion. Someone reactivated my account and got it banned. I was out of the country and didn't check my e-mail until the damage was already done. I really wasn't planing on play ever again, but it would be nice to have the option. I sent an e-mail to support.

That is pretty crappy. I really hate this new type of crime, if you will. I hate having to guard my gaming account more carefully than I do my bank account. Takes some of the fun out of gaming.

Yeah, every one of these games needs to implement some kind of security, something Aion never really did. I was never hacked, but people in all the legions I joined were. Hell, even after the uproar at launch about GameGuard, they should have just put it back on or gotten something else in. Maybe selling some authenticators would be good too.
I'm gonna need to see some paper on that. Comrade.

I guess there are still people playing Aion. Someone reactivated my account and got it banned. Looks like this happened to Slurms too, he only found out the other day while trying to revive his GW1 account. As far as what you folks did to get hacked, I don't think you did anything. Pretty sure NCSoft's servers got compromised. There was a panicky E-mail from NCSoft a couple months ago telling everyone to change their passwords, pretty sure this is the reason for that. And yes there are still people playing this game, all the casuals have been run off and it's 5 servers full of hardcores who will need to do some RMT when the next major patch comes out in less than two weeks

I received a spam message that my Aion account had been compromised. Because I received it on my blackberry, all the links showed up in their html format. Interestingly enough, one of the links was a WoW hacker link as well. I guess they are hoping that you play WoW too and use the same log in and password.

Make sure you guys are using different login names & passwords for each and every MMO, too.
Maeve, I recently got a WOW phishing email also....I knew it was fake right away because it came to a different email address than what I had used for battlenet.

Well, my account was hacked today. I received emails that my account had been reactivated. It contained my correct name and address, account info. Everything correct except the credit card was not mine. I logged into the NC Soft webpage and my account does indeed read as active until next month. So I changed both my NC Soft password and my Aion account password and sent an email to support.

Ha! I considered logging in, but by no means did I even want to go to the effort of downloading the game. I guess what freaked me out is that there was a bogus credit card listed with my personal info correct on it. They are welcome to my virtual crap in a game I will never play again. But having my personal info gives me the willies.
