Hrm... interesting, but I doubt I'd pick up the game.

Again, I'd pay money to watch a 90 minute film exactly like that.

A cool video, but from the way it ends, the game won't take place in the super hero war zone. Luthor came back in time to keep the world from getting to that point.
I enjoy super hero games in small doses. They don't grab me enough for a mmo. Maybe if it was microtransaction, so I didn't need to maintain a subscription.

I'll have to try it out. I get tired of the same old D&D based fantasy settings after a while. Champions Online was a refreshing break, but one can only do the Zombie Apocalypse so many times for the PvP fix before that gets very boring.
Besides, I can name almost everyone in that trailer, hero and villain alike. And can tell you which version I think it is, like Hal Jordan Vs Kyle Rayner Green Lantern or Barry Allen Vs Wally West for The Flash.
Stop looking at me. /comic book geek off.

Yeah, I played City of Villains for a while, it was fun. The best part of it was the character generator, I found. I spent more time building new characters than I did actually playing the game, which was pretty repetitive anyway. There were several interesting storylines though.
Now that there's a release date for this and for FFIV, people should start getting behind their prospective titles. I'll be in Square-Enix's box, unless it just sucks. If I play MMOs, I usually do one at a time, so I probably won't be doing the the DCUO thing. Unless it's just that good, which I'll have to rely on you folk to tell me.
I'd better not be dead again...

I'm with Maeve. I will definitely try it out, as I love the super hero setting. I am skeptical though as to how good it will be. I have not heard anything "new and exciting" per se on this one.

Again, I'd pay money to watch a 90 minute film exactly like that. I agree 100%! I also wish Blizzard would do a CG movie for Diablo, Warcraft and/or Starcraft. Their videos they make for their games are top notch.

Their videos they make for their games are top notch. Be careful what you wish for. Remember Final Fantasty: The Spirits Within? Even though I personally enjoyed the movie, it got horrible reviews and I think it tainted the industry's belief on movie CGI adaptations of video games. Hopefully since Advent Children was fan-freaking-tastic, more and more would be made as direct to video release, but who knows... /loved Spirits Within, don't hate

EPIC!!!
Sadly, I doubt that a MMO can capture all of that epic-ness. Superheroes are too awesome for MMOs.

Well, I think it's more of a matter of contrast. Sure they can get a lot of awesome super powers in there for your character. But, in an MMO, EVERYONE has super powers. If everyone is a badass, then, effectively, no one is. Except maybe Superman, since he's basically God.

Hmmm, that does look like fun. Champions Online was too much like CoH. This one seems different enough that it might be worth it. I really like that you can do missions for certain heroes and then become essentially a minion of them (or a soldier in their army) and get armor that reflects their style. I think that gives the universe more coherence than a zillion random heroes.

uuggghh That sucks. I've always liked the style of FFXI, and was hoping that FFXIV would be better.
