Yesterday was the great NA Auroria launch for ArcheAge. It has been met with much frustration and rage by the vocal ArcheAge community.
The servers were down for 6.5 hours for this patch. At first, everything seemed normal. Guilds began porting over or sailing in to Auroria, depending on their plans and harvesting the items they needed to create castles. After about 2-3 hours, random disconnects began. At that point, the real problem presented itself. Once disconnected, most players couldn't log back in. People who had been mining for hours and transporting trade packs needed by their guilds were out of the game. This destroyed weeks of work and planning for some guilds. Those who remained in game were able to continue on. The servers were not brought down. Now keep in mind, this was not a mere couple of minutes. This issue lasted all evening and into this morning. This created an unfair playing field between the ones left online and those unable to get into the game.
The other issue is that once a castle was claimed by a guild, all land was gone on most servers within minutes, if not seconds. Many guilds did have mass land grab plans set up for this moment, but many players who were on at the time are reporting mass teleporting to these locations on many of the servers. Witnessing the scope of rampant bot/hack land grabbing during this launch has been disheartening to the point of game breaking for a large number of players.
There are quite a few other conspiracy theories going around based on all of this but I've tried to keep it to the basics here.
On our server, Naima, the word is that the West fell apart in terms of alliances. The East stuck together and to their plans and was able to remain as organized as possible amid the chaos. Castles went to Xen of Onslaught (E), WarriorPoets (E), IRONFIST (W), and Latinus (W). But remember, when it comes to castles, all of this can change in 2 weeks when sieges begin.
