I am trying to install Neverwinter, and Arc installs fine, then when it updates it gives me a generic update error. I've searched everywhere and tried everything I can think of, even <gasp> emailed support. I've added the directory to the safe list in AV client, stopped AV shields, Run as Admin, changed directory, run repair tool (as admin of course), sacrificed a kitten to the gaming gods, nothing works! Fing gaming companies with their damn launchers that dont freakin work! Anyone experienced this and have a fix?

I haven't experienced that. To be honest I *only* installed Arc to get the free companion, and use Steam for NW.

I installed it prior to Arc and use that install usually. I did install Arc on a win 7 machine and it worked fine. Maybe try installing via Steam? Is that still available?

Thanks guys, Steam worked. No idea wtf is up with this Arc thing they are pushing on everyone.
Anyways, once I'm all set up I'll join the Neverwinter crew in game for some fun and debauchery!

Not a fan of Arc. Had to use it to install Neverwinter for my son as he does not have Steam. I didn't run into that problem you had, but it's been a couple weeks.
Steam. always steam.
