Looking at a new system as mine is starting to show its age. As I am going with a custom machine and not a mainstream company I still have the option of choosing Windows 7 or 8. This machine would be exclusively for gaming as we have laptops and an iPad for "casual" computer use. Has anyone used 8 that can compare or anyone done the research? I am doing the research myself and will probably follow up on this post with my decision, however, in the meantime I figured I would again reach out to the community. Thanks!

8 is fine for gaming.
However, the interface still annoys the piss out of me, as does the Server 2012 interface. So, I still run 7 on my main machine. I do run 8 on a laptop, and Server 2012 on my home server (running a 2008R2 media server, a Server 2003 Minecraft server, and a Linux Mint build as Hyper-V virtuals), but that's mainly to get familiar with new tech.
